You pray that Betty will show leniency. All you did was turn her down for a date (albeit you had to lie to do it), but Betty was acting as if you did something truly horrible. You should've just agreed. What were you thinking lying to a 10,000 foot tall cow. Soon you hear the sound of a key turning and you gulp because Betty has reached her house.
