"I'll do it." You reply reluctantly almost under your breath, shocked that you're even agreeing to such a ridiculous idea.
"Wha? Sorry Alan I couldn't hear you." Meena stammers meekly as she lowers her head with one of her large pointed ears raised upwards towards you.
"I'll do it!" You shout as loud as you could hoping you wouldn't have to repeat yourself a third time.
Meena remained still for a brief second or so as if trying to process your words as her eyes practically brighten up from your reply. "R-Really?"
"Yeah." You slowly nod your head. "But...You PROMISE this suit of yours will be safe...right?" You ask still seventy percent unsure about this whole project idea despite agreeing.
"I-It should." Meena nods with reluctance. "I mean, when I tested it out it showed that there was only about 5 percent corrosion damage on the surface."
"Five percent?" That doesn't seem to sound so bad overall considering just where that suit ended up. "Where was it damaged at?" You went on slowly calming a bit as the test just might be bearable.
"Oh the damage...well...it was...errr...the helmet region." Meena answers almost unwillingly as your heart sank from the answer. "B-But! I managed to patch it out!" She quickly states. "There was just a small section that wasn't fully sealed is all. B-But that's taken care of!" She went on no doubt trying to calm your nerves for this project of hers.
Seeing your startled expression a long sigh escapes Meena as she simply shakes her head disappointingly. "N-nevermind Alan. This was a stupid idea. I just thought it might be more insightful to get an up close look rather than read up on it in the textbooks. But...it's fine."
Whether it was her disheartened expression, dejected words, or a mixture of both your heart began to sink seeing just how bummed your huge bat friend was. "Are you SURE you got all the problems fixed out? No small holes that will leak through?" You ask showing you were more than willing to go on with the plan despite the rather nerve-wracking reveal earlier.
Turning her head Meena slowly nods her head. "Yes, Some simple adjustments managed to fix out the suit."
"Right...let's see it." You urge startling Meena completely.
"Y-You mean you still want to give it a go?" The meek bat asks amazed by your response.
"As long as you said it's safe...Which you did." You reply back.
"O-Okay! give me a sec!" Meena wastes no time rising up rushing towards her cluttered desk. "Where is it?" You hear her mumble. "It should've been here on the right..." Her somewhat bumbling like actions were starting to give you some brief second thoughts before a sudden "Ah-HA!" emerges from the proud bat girl.
"Here it is!" She beams lowering what could only be considered as a mix of a scuba with astronaut gear plastered about. While the craftsmanship on it didn't exactly seem up to professional standards, in fact you could see some light sloppy stitching of some cords around the joint areas of the suit, It at least looked to be practical...in a sense.
"This...is the suit?" You ask going almost tip toe to get a better look at the helmet, which looked to be made of a metallic ball with a large circular glass right dab in the middle.
"I studied a lot about scuba diving as well as pressure changes when making it." Meena went on seemingly proudly. "In fact! if you look at the helmet It's designed to look just like the helmets found on-"
"Right! the suit looks...nice." You interject not really in the mood to go on through a one hour tangent about just which era Meena took design cues from.
"Well...you can go ahead and try it on. The material should be elastic enough to fit practically any human...well, human size." Meena insists. Sighing, you carefully take the rather bulky suit in your hands finding it had a bit of weight to it. "Something tells me this is a bad idea..." You grumble to yourself despite already dedicating to go on with this experiment.
