You were just getting ready to pay your half of the bill and leave, but Lily scooped you up in her palm and lifted you up in front of her face. You were so close that you could feel her breath, and the scent of the tuna she just ate was still fresh.
"Hey little guy, remember how I said I might make you my pet?" Lily asked with a playful smirk.
"Uh, yeah... Why?"
"Well, back then I was just kidding. But after spending so much time getting to know you, I really think that I'd like that after all. So I'm gonna give you a choice. Do you want to be my pet? We can have lots of fun together, and I'll take real good care of you. I promise that you'll enjoy every minute of it."
You didn't know how to respond. This was just so sudden. Earlier you were thinking about how nice it would be to be Lily's pet, but now you were really being given that opportunity! But was it really what you wanted?
