The smoke created from the Growth Ray’s beam finally began to clear, but it looked kinda weird to you, small…they almost looked like dots really; sort of grainy, like a poor image on a television. You never saw something like that before, in a way it sort of fascinated you. The way they moved along with the smoke, all bundled together…something about that seemed familiar but you couldn’t put your finger on it. The whole deal with Rouge was much more of a focus than anything some grainy-looking smoke. She did something at the last second, but what? With each second more smoke cleared and you were growing increasingly nervous. The whole room seemed different, it looked the same but…the perspectives felt off. Maybe Rouge actually made you big, actually did something nice? It sounded impossible but…it would explain things. A bit of happiness started forming inside, a happiness Rouge crushed in a heartbeat.
“My, it looks like something went wrong. “ Her voice was loud, far louder than it had ever been before, even when she screamed. Before it seemed like regular voices were as loud and thunderous as the voice of a God, but this completely redefined that. Just one syllable out of the woman’s mouth was enough to nearly burst an eardrum, hear breaths nearly as loud as her voice used to be.
On top of that, you started to notice things. First off, you were still on Rouge’s hand, but massive ridges seemed to leave you trapped in a deep canyon within her palm, the wrinkles on her hand? They looked grainy like the smoke did. You couldn’t even see the giantess past the walls of flesh, yet you could hear and feel her entire body at work. The blood running, the sounds of each organ doing their jobs, it was…medically fascinating as weird as that sounded. But the most significant thing you noticed was above, literally, the ceiling. You were right in thinking your perspective had changed, but it wasn’t closer, it was farther. All these things led to one, terrifying conclusion.
The Growth Ray failed, you had instead shrunken even further. Small enough to the point you were actually able to visibly see atoms! That was what the grainy-looking things were, atoms at work. You were…microscopic. The experiment failed.
No…Rouge did this, the experiment didn’t fail, she made it. You looked up angrily at her looming face, at a mocking smile displaying her dominance.
“You…you bitch! Why would you do this to me?! Why do you torture me like this!?” You screamed to the point your lungs hurt; the dream you so often craved came so close…but Rouge just saw fit to take that pleasure away from you and turn it into another sick game. At least you so small it was a guarantee she couldn’t see or hear you.
“I wouldn’t talk like that if I were you tiny, you don’t even qualify as a slave anymore, that’s above you. You’re just entertainment now, and the moment that ends, I end you.” Her smile seemed all the more ominous with each word, and you grew all the more baffled. How could she see, let alone hear you?! It just seemed impossible, this had to be a nightmare, it just had to be. All that could escape your puny mouth was one word, “…How…?
Rouge continued to smile, “Because I am a Goddess of course.” With that statement a wave of darkness blotted out everything, judging from the faint rustles of movement you heard it seemed she closed her fist.
Loud clicks that were footsteps came too; Rouge was probably leaving the experimental area. The noise of a door confirmed it, right away people stepped forward to ask Rouge what happened.
The farce Rouge claimed as an explanation just sickened you, literally, her voice was so loud is was making you nauseas, as well as the idea itself. Apparently the Growth Ray made a lot more smoke then expected, so they couldn’t see anything; and everyone was too nervous to consider trying to listen or speak to the two inside. That gave the demoness the ideal situation. She described how the ray blinded her, how she tried her best to remain calm but accidentally dropped you from shock. And from there, witnessed how you went from small, to microscopic. She tried to search for you amidst the smoke, but it proved difficult. All of it was false of course; Rouge was a master at lying. In fact, she conveniently left out whether she found you or not in her story.
The disappointed groans of the various scientists (as well as family) depressed you. “Don’t give up! It works; just make sure this bitch does- “The Goddess clenched her fist to silence you. The canyons of her palm seemed to squeeze together in an attempt to crush you between their walls. No struggles did anything, just made the time seem to go by slower. Eventually the canyon became a narrow passage, and eventually that became nothing at all; you were squished in a canyon of skin in Rouge’s palm. For a brief instant you welcomed death at that moment, an awakening to the nightmare called life; but all that awaited you was excruciating pain. Bones were breaking, organs rupturing; you were literally as flat as paper, but still one-hundred percent alive. All that you experienced was the pain death would’ve saved you from, pain too great for words. It was true, Rouge also made you invincible as well as microscopic.
Amidst your screams and suffering December’s voice echoed sadly into your ears, “What about my brother…Is he…?”
Thank God! December noticed something was missing in Rouge’s story! You’d never call her a blonde again after this.
But Rouge already had a rehearsed response reply ready...
