A stroke of luck Your Life......Smaller chapter 23 by copier · original author: thramell

Your struggling ceases when a distant crack of thunder breaks the silence. If you didn't know better, that sounded like a door opening. Massive footsteps boom through the garage. You then hear something else. It sounds like thousands of rocks scraping against on another. You finally see movement, as one of your family moves past. A massive wall of beige fills your view, and as it approaches you notice it is made of hundreds of thick fibers, as large as a building.

...

Uh oh.

Before long, the broom sweeps right over you. The straw easily shreds the web, catching you and the spider. You are sent for a ride as the broom is swept across the garage floor. It stops for a moment, as a monolithic plastic dam appears before you. The mountain of dust and dirt is swept inside it. The spider falls and lands in the dustpan, but thankfully you keep your grip on the fibers. You're lifted one last time in the air, before the broom is placed against the wall. The unaware goddess then returns inside, leaving you alone. Well, the good news is that you are now that much closer to safety. You slide down the broom fibers, and find yourself only a foot away from the door. You could make that trip quite easily before night time! With your hope reinvigorated, you start walking once again.

You can see the light slowly recede from the sky behind you. A rumble fills the air, as your mother's car arrives in the garage. The rumbling engine knocks you down and shakes the earth, until it finally shuts off. The door opens, and your mother exits. She walks towards the door, closes the garage door, and heads inside. Unfortunately, you're in her path. A high heel that dwarfs any mountain slams down above you, the spike sitting mere inches from your face. A crazy idea hits you: what if you caught a ride from your mother?
