Your cousin Amanda, dressed for the pool, was walking down the hall towards you. As it happened, Jessica had dropped you right in front of her own room, so Amanda stopped with one huge foot on either side of you, and leaned into Jessica’s room. “JESSICA?” she called. “ARE YOU UP HERE?”
You figured that climbing onto one of Amanda’s feet would be your best bet to keep from getting stepped on, so you grabbed the slightly-long toenail of the big toe on her left foot, and pulled yourself up onto it. You heard Amanda mutter, “Hmmm... no Jessica. I wonder if Jack is around?” You held on tight while Amanda walked the short distance to your room. Without knocking, she opened the door, saying, “SURPRISE!”
Seeing that you were not there, she muttered, “Darn,” and stepped in and closed the door behind her, then walked over and sat down on your bed. She was short enough that sitting down raised her feet from the floor; as her toes began to tilt towards the floor, you knew you either had to grab onto the skin of her toe, or fall off.
