Gon Freecs stood triumphant, bruised, covered in sweat but grinning ear to ear. Behind him, a group of cliché peasants cheered for their hero. The terrifying monster which had stood before him exploded into a cloud revealing a floating card of itself. “Book” Gon yelled holding out his hand to grab the summoned object. He grabbed the slowly spinning card and with a satisfying beep it dissolved and then materialised in his book, one step closer to beating Greed Island. He was about to un-summon his book when a loud voice rang out. “Wait a moment brave hero” from behind the crowd of villager NPCs a slightly more unique elder stepped out. “You have saved us all from certain doom and for this I grant you our treasure” with a flourish he presented an ornate wooden box clearly containing another card. Gon jumped with excitement before bowing and taking the box from the old man.
His quest complete and rewards earned Gon began to make his way back to the place he and Killua had agreed to meet up at. While he was unsure about splitting up, at first, Killua had assured him they would cover more ground and if Killua had collected as many cards as he had they would be close to finishing the game. He’d been travelling for almost an hour before Gon realised he was still carrying the box. He put a hand to his forehead in exasperation but his embarrassment was quickly replaced with curiosity as he placed the box down. What kind of card would it be? Even though he had done it hundreds of times Gon always felt the same childish joy when getting a new card. With a flick of his hand, he undid the clasp and opened the box revealing a glistening spell card. He raised an eyebrow in surprise, he had never seen a spell like this before.
