At World Welfare Works Association headquarters, also known as 3WA, the chief of the local bureau was talking with his two best and most destructive agents. Their team name was the Lovely Angels, but because of the destruction they always brought on their missions, they were more often then not called the Dirty Pair. The team was made up of Kei and Yuri, polar opposites forced to work together. Yuri was a girl concerned with two things, getting married and remaining pretty, two things that she often puts in front of her job and the life of her partner. While Yuri cares about appearances, one word can sum up Kei, tomboy.
“What ya mean, we gotta stay away from loading bay V?” The more unruly of the Dirty Pair asked as she slammed her palms against the desk of her boss, Garner.
“I’m telling you that I want you far away from loading bay V because it’s holding a very special new weapon. I can’t go into what it is, but if ether of you so much as scratch it, you’ll be doing janitorial duties til you’re old a wrinkled.” Yuri shuddered at Garners words; Kei just huffed at the warning. He was just making more empty threats. Not wanting to talk any more, Kei stormed out with Yuri on her tail. She made sure to slam the door as she left, knocking several photos of Garner’s Wall.
“I can’t believe that arrogant bastard,” Kei growled. She and Yuri were in the changing room getting out of their work clothes and into their normal wardrobe. They had been in there before when Garner called them to his office and laid down the law that they were to stay clear loading bay V. Apparently, some big new toy the 3WA had been working on was being stored there and they didn’t want to run the chance of the Dirty Pair accidentally destroying it.
“I don’t see what the big deal is? You didn’t even know where loading bay V was before Garner told you to stay clear of it.”
“That’s not the point. Garner is trying to tell us what to do and how to do it, before long he’ll order us to carry only certain weapons, or drive certain vehicles, or not blow up buildings. He’s trying to bend us to his will and turn us into lap dogs,” Kei grumbled as she glared at Yuri, who remained impassive.
“He just asked us not to go near a dangerous area in the building. You’re turning an ant hill into a mountain,” Yuri sighed, and then put on her dress. Why was everything so hard with Kei? Couldn’t she just let the matter drop?
“Yah, well you gotta know that whatever they got down at the loading bay is cool. Maybe it’s a mini-nuke launcher or a mech?” Kei’s eyes brightened at the thought of how much destruction she could cause with those babies. Lets see Garner tell her what to do when she’s packing that kind of heat.
“Whatever, I got to go. Promise me you wont sneak off to the loading bay and get us into trouble.”
“Maybe it’s a compact black hole generator?”
“Kei!” Yuri growled, not liking one bit what her reluctant partner was thinking.
“Okay, okay, okay, I wont go near the loading bay,” Kei said, waving her hands around to calm Yuri down. Giving Kei one last glance, Yuri left the changing room. When the door closed, Kei reached into her locker and removed the fake bottom. Reaching into the hidden compartment, she pulled out a large can of beer and opened it.
“Don’t get in trouble, please. Who does she think she is my mother?” Kei downed the beer in one gulp. After being humiliated by that paper pusher Garner, it was going to take more then one illegal contraband to forget her problems. It wasn’t until she was on her fifth beer that she decided to check out loading bay V. After all, wasn’t she an agent for 3WA and deserved to see any new cool weapons that they were building? She lumbered along the dimly lit hallway. It was the middle of the night and nearly everyone was gone. Kei was all alone and that suited her just fine. She got lost several times, but eventually found the loading bay. The door was locked, but a quick shot from her revolver fixed that. She would worry about replacing the lock later. Right now, all she wanted to do was see this new weapon that she was supposed to stay far away from. She looked inside, expecting shiny guns and stuff you usually see in mad scientists labs, but instead found something interlay different.
