As Ed, Maria, Denny, and Sheska talked, the front door suddenly banged open. Winry ran inside looking scared about something. She closed the door and breathed a sigh of relief. She looked up and sweatdropped at all the people staring at her.
"What's wrong Winry?" Ed asked.
"Nothing!" She said loudly, waving her hands around. "Absolutely nothing is wrong! Nope! Not a thing! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"
Everyone sweatdropped at this.
"So, when did you get back Ed? And where's Al?"
Ed sighed and sat down. "It's a long story."
But before he could even begin to tell the tale, a knock came on the door. Winry squeaked and dived behind the couch. At the same time, Maria and Denny grabbed Ed and carried him into the basement, in case the Military had come to enquire. Sheska paniced and dived behind the couch with Winry. The person outside the door knocked again. Pinako entered the now deserted room and looked around.
"Where did everyone go?"
"Whoever it is I'm not here!" Winry said.
Pinako sighed and opened the door. A man entered the house. He was wearing a long coat with a scarf tied around his neck and what looked like wool pants. His sad eyes were covered with a small pair of glasses, while his long hair was tied back in a pony tail. He carried a small battered suitcase in one gloved hand.
"Well, well. I was wondering when you'd come back."
"Hello again Pinako." He had a deep voice. "I must have been away longer than I thought. I can't seem to find my house."
"Well, you'd be hard pressed to find it, since they burned it down."
"I thought as much."
Winry and Sheska slowly emerged from behind the couch and Winry asked, "Grandma, who is that?"
Pinako smiled and said, "You don't recognize him? Well you were just a little girl when he left. Winry, meet Ed and Al's father."
"Winry of course." he said. "Back at the trainstation you looked so much like your mother, I was taken back to a different time."
The basement door creaked open and Maria stole a peek at who was at the door.
"Well? Is it the Military?" Denny asked nervously.
"No, it's...a man..." She blushed as she said this.
"That's it? What does he look like?"
"He's tall and has got long hair tied in a ponytail. He's wearing glasses too and for some reason, a big coat, a scarf, gloves, and wool pants! He must be burning up in that get up!"
Ed heard the description and his eyes widened. He was back! He charged up the stairs, kicked open the door, and ran up to his father.
