Water.
Water is the giver of life, and the giver of death. The human body is 70% water, salt water to be exact. Yet, if humans breathe water, they'll die. In fact, if any mammal stays under water too long, they'll drown. But what about the mutants that Zorndyke made?
The mutants called Zorndyke "Papa". Little is known about these mutants, just the fact that they're dangerous. Well...some of the mutants are. Verg is one of these dangerous mutants. Even after the death of Zorndyke, Verg swore that he would hate humans for the rest of his days. However, not all Zorndyke's mutants are dangerous. Muteo is one of these rare friendly mutants. Muteo and her sisters breath water...but they can stay alive in air, so they must have both lungs and gills.
Muteo was the first mutant to speak human language. Her first words were "Ha..ya..mi" which was the name of a human that spared her life so long ago. The other mutants needed devices to speak human languages, like what Verg was wearing all through the last battle.
It has been a year since the death of Zorndyke. Muteo searches for the human that spared her life. She doesn't know where he is, but she wants to be with him. To thank him in his own lanuage.
The mutants and the remaining human race have peace, so to speak. Verg, having no "Phantom Ship" to hunt down humans, has settled in the waters where "Papa" died. Verg doesn't talk to anyone much anymore, not even to his fellow mutants.
Muteo has a limited vocabulary of the human language. She lives among humans now, but still searches for Hayami. Her vocabulary is growing slowly, as to be expected. Muteo is the unoffical ambrassador to the mutants.
