"Explain it to me again, Jessie" said James. "why are we here again?"
James, Jessie and Meowth of Team Rocket had sneaked into a research center called the Mount Sanguine Research Center. The MSRC (as it was called by the locals) was the state-of-the-art research center. What was researched at the MSRC was widely unknown to the general public. That's why the trio from Team Rocket had decided to check out the research center--or at least Jessie decided to. The three had sneaked into the building and was checking the center out at night. There was only one security guard on duty, who was currenly asleep thanks to Weepinbell's sleep powder. So, Team Rocket was quite safe from being caught. Jessie decided not to answer to James' question, since she already answered it earlier. The answer was to find out what they researched here. Maybe they would find something to help them to finally get Pikachu from Ash.
The three had walked into a room that was labeled "LAB 5: CHEMICAL V"
In Lab 5, there were tables and the usual stuff you find in labs. On one of the tables, there were a total of four vials filled with what looked like water. Beside the vials, there was a clipboard with papers on it. Jessie went to the vials, while James went to the clipboard. Meowth was keeping watch just outside the door to Lab 5.
James read through the top paper that was on the clipboard;
CHEMICAL V
Head Researcher: Professor Janet Maple
Assinant Reseacher: Professor William Tannet
Test Subjects: To be Annoncued
Research Started: 3/6/1998
Samples of Chemical V completed: 5/5/2005
As James read on, Jessie removed the cork on one of the vials and sniffed what was inside it. Whatever was inside the vials, smelled like mothballs. Jessie moved the vial away from her nose so fast that the vial hit the table and shattered, covering Jessie in the liquid that was in the vial. James looked up from the clipboard with an expression of excitement on his face.
"Jessie, you might want to look at this" said James.
"Never mind that" said Jessie. "Just get me a towel or something. I'm soaking wet!"
Meowth rushed into the room just then. "Somebody's comin'!"
James, Jessie and Meowth quickly rushed out of the room, hoping that they wouldn't be seen.
Two people entered Lab 5 just 3 minutes later. One person was a woman in her mid-twenties and the other person was a man in his mid-thirties. The woman had long brown hair that ended in a ponytail below her waist. The man had short red hair and wore glasses.
"So, let me get this straight" said the man. "Chemical V is a failure"
"That's not what I said, William" said the woman. "Chemical V was intended to allow pokemon to swallow large helpings of food. Oringally, it was for snorlax. The idea was to get snorlax to swallow enough food for it in one go. That would stop most snorlaxes* from eating all the food around them. BUT, Chemical V does have a curious effect on humans"
"So you said" said William. "and what is that effect on humans?"
In answer, the woman smiled.

Sanguine City was a small and little known city in the Kanto region. It's located in the moutains near Pallet Town. It's somewhat larger than Pallet Town, but not by much. It does have a pokemon center and a run-down pokemon gym. Years ago, this city was home to the 9th badge of the Indigo League. You used to have to get 9 badges to be in the Indigo League championchips, but they changed it to 8 badges in the early 80's. Nobody knows why that decision was made.
The pride and joy of Sanguine City was the Mount Sanguine Research Center (or the MSRC as the locals call it). The MSRC was the only employer of the city. Nearly everybody in the city knew about where to find the MSRC, but few people knew what they researched there.
Ash got off the bus with May, Max and Brock. They had been invited by a Professor Maple to be guinea pigs for her new experiment. The experiment promised to be the greatest discovery of human history. Ash rather doubted that any experiment was that Earth-shattering. Of course, Professor Maple didn't say what the experiment was about.
Professor Maple had heard about Ash and his friends by Professor Oak, who happened to be the teacher of Professor Maple. It was Professor Oak who told Ash and company about Maple's request to see them at once. Ash didn't know why they should come, but they came anyway. Besides, May and Max wanted to come to the Kanto region to look around since they've never been to Kano before.
"This must be the place" said Ash, as he looked at The MSRC, where the bus had dropped them off. It was also where Professor Maple said that she would meet up with Ash and Company.
"Should we go insdie and wait?" asked May. "or stay out here?"
"Hmmmmm" said Ash.
Before Ash could answer, a person walked out of the MSRC.
