Just like Nadia, Jean has never been on top of the Eiffel Tower before, so it was certainly an exciting event for him, and actually, he was glad that he could leave his new, living home for a while in order to enjoy this incredible sight with Nadia together. Looking over the city and at the countryside in the distance, Jean imagined that only a few kilometers away from Paris there was Versailles, quite possibly the most famous castle in the world, and undeniably beautiful. And yet he knows that Versailles stands for the decadence in the French monarchy and its ultimate downfall in the year 1792. As a Frenchman, Jean of course also heard of the German/French war of 1870/1871, with France being humiliated by the Germans due to their victory, the deposition of Emperor Napoleon III. and the foundation of the German Empire in Versailles - a slap in the face for every Frenchman -and woman. But Jean never thought badly of the Germans because of that, though. He just wished he could see what lies beyond the country he and Nadia were looking at, where they were going to and what they were going to experience. Jean was sure that it was going to be interesting, and traveling with Nadia made it all more exciting. Looking up her face, staring at the countryside, he smiled. Just a few hours ago, he wanted to take part in the World Fair, and now he was standing at the top of the Eiffel Tower, together with the girl of his dreams he just met, about to go on the adventure of a lifetime.
"Nadia? Do you have any idea where we should go? I mean, you said you wanted to find out more about your past, right? So, I was just wondering whether you already know where we could go."
"No. I have absolutely no idea."
"Uhm...but I thought we could need a clue on where to go. Or shall we just travel around without any destination?"
"Don´t worry, I know how we can gather some informations."
"Huh? You can´t mean...these people from before?!"
"We should go find them and ask them who they are and who they´re working for. There must be a reason why they want Blue Water so badly, and maybe their boss knows more."
"I think you know how dangerous this is?"
"Yes. But don´t you think it could be fun, too?"
With that gorgeous face of Nadia staring down at Jean, making himself comfortable on her palm, there was no way he could possibly resist. And it was true. It could be fun, especially together with Nadia, despite all the dangers that could have awaited them. And he was sure that together, they could overcome everything.
"Yeah...you´re right, Nadia."
"See? Don´t worry, I´ll watch over you, I promise."
"I know. And I´ll...well, watch over the well being of your stomach, then..."
"Hahahaha! Thanks a lot!"
Everything could have been so wonderful. Nadia was closing her eyes and bringing her palm nearer to her face. Jean was completely perplexed as he realized what Nadia intended: she wanted to kiss him, or at least she wanted to try. Seeing her beautiful pair of lips coming closer and closer, his body heat was quickly rising due to the excitement he felt, and his whole body began to tremble as well. Dear God...the moment he has been waiting for was finally there. And it arrived faster than he thought. But moments before his tiny body could feel the gentle touch of Nadia´s lips, the romantic moment was interrupted by a terribly familiar noise...a noise they heard recently. The sound of blades slashing through air, the sound of an aircraft.
"Huh? Oh no, it can´t be!"
Nadia was scared as she realized that in front of them, Grandis´ aircraft was floating dozens of meters above the ground. First of all, it was surprising that they managed to reach such a height. And it was surprising as well that they arrived just moments after they were talking about them.
"Hahaha! We´re back, as I promised!" that persistent red haired woman exclaimed.
"You!"
Nadia was angry to see that terrible person again, but she realized immediately that she had to avoid a fight and try to negotiate with them. She didn´t want to fight up there, it was too dangerous, especially for Jean.
"Listen, Grandis! I don´t want to fight you! Let´s settle this peacefully!" Nadia yelled at the woman, standing on that freaky looking aircraft.
"Not a chance, girl. Miss Grandis will never give up so easily." Hanson, one of her henchmen said.
"He´s damn right." Sanson added.
"Why do you want the stone, anyway?" Nadia asked, while Jean tried to cling to one of Nadia´s fingers for his dear life, fearing that something could happen to him.
"That´s none of your concern. And it´s not only the stone we want. We want you as well."
"What?! But why?!"
Before Grandis explained why, she spotted tiny Jean on Nadia´s palm, and she started to laugh.
"That´s our business, girl. But if you decide not to come with us, it will certainly be a painful experience for your tiny friend there."
"Jean!"
"Hahahahahaha!"
Jean was in disgust as he saw that woman´s mouth opened wide as she laughed at him and Nadia. Although it sounds stupid, Jean thought that Nadia´s mouth was much more beautiful than that woman´s mouth. Maybe it was his love for Nadia or his hatred for Grandis. In any case it was a difficutl decision Nadia had to make. If she had refused to come with them, Jean would have been in danger. But still...if she actually would have come with them, that could have provided her with more information about the stone.
