Elsewhere.....
In another universe.....
Faye Valentine grimaced down at the vat of bubbling liquid that looked like mud boiling. The smell coming off of the mystery liquid was absolutely putrid. So much so that she was holding her nose shut. She glanced down at her smaller and younger companion that was working on a laptop and didn't seem to be bothered by the nasty smell.
"So....this is what Thames was working on" said Faye.
Her companion said nothing but nodded vaguely. This made Faye sigh.
"Any idea what it is?" asked Faye.
"Nope nope" said the girl named Edward.
"Where are the two useless ones?"
Edward didn't reply. She kept on typing away at her laptop. Edward was presumably scanning the odd liquid with her laptop. Faye sighed and looked around the abandoned factory.
Felton Thames was the latest bounty picked up by the crew by the Bebop. The bounty was for fifteen million wong. Felton was in the illegal drug business: mostly he dealt with the drug red eye. It had been Faye that had found Felton's base of operations on Mars in a place that wasn't exactly easy to find. It was in some kind of hidden bunker some twenty miles from the nearest city.
Spike and Jet had gone to deal with Felton who just happened to be not at his hideout. Faye and Edward was sent to secure the bunker/factory. There were no security guards to deal with, just two big vats of the red eye drug and the vat that contained a completely unknown substance.
The three vats were open to the air. Faye and Edward were on a catwalk that overlooked the three vats. Edward was sitting dangerously close to the edge of the catwalk or so Faye thought. Faye looked at the screen of the laptop. It was all gibberish to her.
"Are you finding out anything interesting about that stuff?" asked Faye.
"Not a thing" said Edward sounding frustrated.....which was odd for her. Normally the odd litter girl was happy-go-lucky. Seeing Edward frustrated was slightly unnerving to Faye.
"Well....we know it's not red eye" muttered Faye.
"It has components of Red eye...." said Edward more to herself than to Faye.
"Yeah?" asked Faye sounding mildly interested. Red eye effectively slowed time down for the user. It was a closely-guarded secret on how to make the drug in the first place so Felton most likely had connections to the numerous crime syndicates that dotted the solar system.
Faye stepped somewhat closer to the vat which made her kick Edward....rather lightly it was true.
"Watch it" said Edward. "Edward almost fell in"
"You're too close" said Faye.
Before Edward could reply, a shot rang out somewhere behind Faye. The bullet itself struck one foot away from the two females. Faye whipped around and pulled out her gun. While Faye was whipping around, she accidentally knocked up against Edward that caused her and the laptop into the vat.
"Oh damn" said Faye. She had little time to worry about Edward's predicament because another shot rang out from the darkness. Faye ducked as she ran off the catwalk. She couldn't see the shooter.
It wasn't instantaneous. Edward, upon landing in the vat, didn't feel anything. Then she noticed a tingling all over her body.....and a vast amount of information entered her head. It was like gaining a brand new sense with an infinite amount of information. As Edward tried to swim out of the vat she felt her new-found power lash out and opened a portal at the bottom of the vat. This caused the vat to drain into whatever dimension the portal led to....and it pulled in Ed along with it. Edward tried to swim away but the current was way too strong and she was pulled down. Edward tried to tap into....her godly power to lift her out of the vat but it didn't work. Edward was pulled into the portal. The portal snapped shut almost immediately.
(Yes it's another crossover. I was planning on doing this much, much later but I couldn't resist. I leave it ambiguous if Edward retains her godhood.....if you have a problem with this entry, Chaos, feel free to delete it)
