Hakubi stared at his mother for several moments with mouth agape. It looked as though as if words failed him as he tried several times to talk. Washu smirked.
"It always leads to incest" mumbled Hakubi quietly.
"There's nothing wrong with incest" said Washu. "Only humans from Earth view incest as wrong or odd"
"So....our offspring is special?" asked Hakubi.
"Every offspring is special" said Washu.
Hakubi nodded. "So....if Mihoshi is your great-great granddaughter...is she a demigod or something?"
Washu shook her head. "The blood has been thinned over the generations. Mihoshi has some of my blood but not nearly enough to make her a demigod. She can apparently tap her power at random, though not always successfully or precisely under her full control"
Hakubi gave his mother a questioning look.
"Mihoshi, and certain members of her family, have the ability to transport themselves to hard-to-reach locations" said Washu. "For example, Mihoshi has always been able to enter my lab even though she has been barred from it several times. I asked her once how she came to be in my lab and she said that she couldn't remember on how she had gotten inside my lab....she just found herself in my lab suddenly"
"Fascinating..." said Hakubi.
"As I understand it, Mihoshi's mother wrong thhe same ability" said Washu. "Although in her case, she can appear in a completely different solar system or even on a ship light-years away from her original position"
"So, our child would inherit that ability" said Hakubi rubbing at his chin thoughtfully.
"Most likely" said Washu. "There's even a possibility that the child would inherit so much more. The blood has been thinned, yes, but..." here, Washu shrugged.
Silence hanged in the air as Hakubi started to pace back and forth, a habit that he did when he was deep in thought. Washu looked around her surroundings.
Hakubi stopped pacing and asked, "How did you know I was here?"
"I didn't" said Washu. "Not until you came within sight of my shrine. Gods can see everything around any and all shrines that are dedicated to them....shrines, temples and churches"
"That must be hard to keep track of, even for a god" said Hakubi.
"Totally dependent on how many shrines and temples there are to a god" said Washu. "But...you're not wrong there. When did Tokimi eat you?"
"Six months ago" said Hakubi. "Right after that huge orgy that involved practically everyone in the cafe"
Washu was silent for a moment before a wide smile came on her face. "That was a good one. Wasn't that the day that Lina Inverse fed herself to Tokimi?"
Hakubi snickered at the memory. Lina and him had gotten into a vicious argument over food. The argument was about to get violent when Washu had stopped it by saying hello to Lina's sister (who wasn't there). Washu hadn't even finished the word "sister" when Lina's face went deathly white and, judging by the smell, had soiled herself. In fact, it had certainly looked like Lina had lost all bodily functions from the waist down. Then Lina ran straight at the unsuspecting Tokimi and had practically jumped down the goddesses' throat in order to escape from her non-existent sister.
"I thought nobody could be that scared" said Hakubi.
"Apparently, Lina's sister is a Chosen One" said Washu. "In her youth, Lina sold naked pictures of her sister for money. Luna punished Lina so badly that Lina became scared of her own sister"
"Yeah, Lina was able to tell me that her sister was slightly stronger than someone named Xellos" said Hakubi.
Washu whistled. "Not exactly a easy feat to do"

Haruko walked through the newly repaired dinning hall. She was looking for more breakfast. She walked passed a woman dressed all in red. The woman in red looked an awful like Carmen Sandeigo with the wide-brimmed red hat the woman was wearing that had a long red feather in it.
"Excuse me" said the woman in red. "Where's.....um....oh bother, what is her name?"
Haruko blinked.
"Ah, Tokimi" said the woman in red after a minute. "Do you know where Tokimi is? Or....any member of The Consortium? I don't exactly need to talk to just Tokimi I suppose"
"I'm a member of The Consortium" said Haruko. "Who the hell are you?"
"Oh, where are my manners?" asked the woman in red. "I'm Carmen of the Soverêa Clan"
Carmen shook hands with Haruko.
"Why do you need to speak with The Consortium?" asked Washu who was suddenly there standing next to Haruko.
"Ah, Lady Washu Hakubi if I'm not mistaken" said Carmen, shaking hands with Washu.
"The Soverêa Clan...." said Washu. "isn't that the name of the clan of kitsune that makes their home in Canada?"
"Well you're informed" said Carmen. "The clan used to own this place a century ago. Had to close it when the economy went bad"
"There are kitsune in Canada?" asked Haruko.
"There are kitsune clans everywhere around the world" said Carmen. "The Soverêa Clan is just a minor clan. I'm the first nine-tail of our clan"
"Minor?" asked Washu. "Even though you're a nine-tail, you're still considered a minor clan?"
"I didn't come here to discuss clan politics" said Carmen.
"What do you want then?" asked Haruko. "We're not even officially opened yet"
Carmen narrowed her eyes at Haruko. "Can't you feel it?"
"Feel what?" asked Washu.
"Something is drawing energy from the power spot" said Carmen. "More so than usual, I mean"
At that moment, Haruko did notice a subtle change in the air.
"Hmmm....yes" said Washu. "Now that you mention it, I do feel it"
"What does that mean?" asked Haruko.
"I'm....not at all sure" said Washu. "Since there are very few objects that can draw energy like that from a power spot.....the energy being drawn from it is staggering though"
"Meaning?" asked Haruko.
"Meaning that you should be concerned with the sheer amount of energy that's being drawn" said Carmen. "a power spot is a fountain of energy fed by the rotation of the planet"
"And energy from a planet is enormous" said Washu. "Just think....what needs that much energy?"

Two robed figures sat at a booth on the far end of the VIP terrace of the dinning hall of the cafe.
"They will suspect that something is drawing energy from the power spot" said the first figure. The hood of the first figure hid the identity of the figure but it didn't hide what looked to be a large round red eye that glowed with its own light. The red eye had no pupil.
"Doesn't matter" said the second figure in a rich voice. "The Eye of Chaos needs to be charged after so long being hidden away. By the time that they learn what is drawing energy from the power spot, it'll be too late"
The first figure chuckled softly as he took a drink from a tankard. The hand of the figure that had the tankard in it had a ring on the index finger.
