Haruko woke up with a huge yawn. It didn't take her long to notice that the kitchen was in total disarray: Pots and pans littered the floor as well as other kitchen items of all sorts. Someone had managed to dent the doors to what looked like a walk-in freezer. It might've been Washu's body that had dented the doors because Washu and helock. xual partner was lying on the floor right next to the doors.
Haruko looked around and saw Urd lying on the floor near a large refrigerator with two partners; one partner had been eating Urd's ass when he had passed out, the other partner was lying across Urd's body with a bottle of sake in his hand.
Mii, the fertility goddess who had started the orgy, was lying on one of the long islands that dotted the kitchen with an absolutely enormous belly. From the looks of it, Mii had unbirthed several people.
"Whoa, Ed is sorry she missed the fun" said a feminine voice. Haruko looked around until she saw that Edward girl standing in front of a door that Haruko didn't recall seeing before. The door that Edward was standing in front of looked like it belonged to another walk-in freezer. Haruko could see a stairway that led downwards behind Edward.
"Where have you been, Edward?" asked Haruko who was putting her clothes back on. This caused Washu to wake up. It took Washu a moment to get up from the floor.
"Edward was busy exploring the basement" said Edward.
"Basement?" asked Washu.
Edward nodded. "Ed found a secret doorway that had stairs going down" here, Edward gestured at the doorway that was behind her.
Urd was the next to wake up. She looked around before grabbing the bottle of sake in the hand of the man. Urd attempted to drink from the bottle but the bottle was empty. Urd grunted in frustration and threw the empty bottle on the floor. "What's this about a secret door?"
"Apparently, Ed found a secret door in this kitchen" said Haruko, shrugging. "Didn't your little god club knew that this place had a basement?"
"Of course we did" said Washu. "When we first moved into this place, I did a scan of this place with my laptop and discovered it had a basement. We couldn't find a door that led to the basement though"
"Which probably means it was veiled with a strong glamour" said Urd.
"How did you find it, Edward?" asked Washu.
Edward shrugged. "Ed just opened a door"
There was a long silence.
"Well, what's in this secret basement?" asked Haruko.
"The boiler room for the bathhouse" said Edward. "Also, what looked to be a large banquet hall and a door that Ed couldn't open"
"Let's go take a look" said Washu.
The stairway that led down to the basement was surprisingly long. The stairway led to a large hallway that had three doors in it. Two of the doors were labeled. The third door was a large door with gold trimmings. The third door didn't have a doorknob or any other mechanism to open it. Washu went right to the third door and examined it closely.
"This door has a kitsune lock on it...." mumbled Washu after she had examined the door for several long moments.
"A kitsune lock?" asked Urd, walking over to the third door and examined it also. "Huh...it's been a long time since I saw one of those"
"What's a kitsune lock?" asked Haruko.
"A lock that can only be opened by a kitsune" said Washu. "A minor clan of kitsune used to own this place. This might be...." here, Washu placed her hand on the door. Washu closed her eyes and was clearly doing something to the door. She grimaced after a moment and removed her hand from the door and said, "It is. This is a nine-tail lock. Only a kitsune with nine tails can open this door"
"Edward thinks that you don't know any nine-tail kitsune" said Edward.
"The last time I saw a kitsune with nine tails was down in New Orleans about ten years ago" said Washu.
Urd looked at Washu sharply. "You've been to New Orleans?"
"I was down there for Mardi Gras" said Washu. "Ended up meeting with The Baron and his lovely wife, Maman Brigitte"
"What's behind this door?" asked Haruko.
"Clearly something extremely dangerous if it needs a nine-tail lock" said Urd.
"Indeed" said Washu. "Well....let's go check out the rest of this basement"
The boiler room turned out to be a large room with boxes and boxes of herbal mixes for the baths. There was noboby that ran the boiler.
(Author's note: It looks exactly like the boiler room from the movie "Spirited Away")
" We really need to find someone to run this boiler" said Urd, looking through all the herbal mixes that was in the room. "Some of these would make excellent baths"
The banquet hall was just one large hall. It was perhaps 50 feet wide and twenty feet tall.
"Looks ideal for a wedding reception" said Urd with a significant look at Washu. Washu grimaced at Urd but said nothing.
"<Hey, Takkun>" called Haruko with the mental link. "<You should come here. We just discovered the basement of this place and it's really cool>"
There was no response.
"<Takkun?>"
No response.
Haruko then searched for Naota with the link....and couldn't find him. She couldn't even sense him.
"What's wrong, Haruko?" asked Urd. "You look distressed"
Haruko was about to answer when a robot that looked like an octopus flew into the banquet hall.
"Lady Washu" said the robot. "It has come to our attention that a patron has been kidnapped from these premises"
"Identify the patron" said Washu.
"Mina Ashiido" replied the robot. "We couldn't identify the kidnapper either"
"Show me the security tape" said Washu.
The robot then projected a hologram in the air that showed security tape footage of a teenage girl, Mina presumably, in the parking lot of the Dimensional Cafe. Mina was clearly waiting for someone. All of a sudden Mina looked upwards and her eyes widened as if she was in shock in whatever she saw. The next minute and Mina had simply vanished from the parking lot.
"Rewind and slow the footage" said Urd. "I thought I saw something"
The hologram rewound to just before Mina vanished. The slowed-down footage plainly showed what looked to be a shadow descending from the sky.
"Rewind and slow the footage again" said Washu.
The footage was rewound again and the footage was slowed down even more. The shadow that had descended from the sky had red eyes and was clearly carrying a person.
"Can you focus on the person being carried?" asked Washu.
The footage was rewound once again. The shadow was frozen in time. The image focused on the person being carried.
"Takkun...." said Haruko coming over to look at the projected hologram.
"Whoever grabbed Mina Ashiido also nabbed Naota" said Washu.
"Identity of the kidnapper has been confirmed" said the octopus-like robot. "The kidnapper is identified as LadyDevimon, one of The Hellmasters"
Washu sighed heavily.
"Oh dear" said Urd.
"What?" asked Haruko. "Who are The Hellmasters?"
"Owners of the Infernal Tavern" said Washu.
"You think that they were kidnapped by her orders?" asked Urd.
"Most likely" said Washu. "You don't have to get involved in this, Urd"
"Who is her?" asked Haruko. "Get involved in what?"
Urd sighed. "It seems that my mother might've given the orders to kidnap both Naota and Mina"
