Naota remained uncharacteristically quiet while he mulled over what he had just heard. That white void felt much more real than just a dream. It was as if he was really there instead of inside a womb. And the fact that Haruko just came out and said she was a goddess had greatly unnerved him. Naota also remained quiet because he didn't know what to say or what to think. He felt Haruko walking. Was she really going to school with him in her womb?
"<I have everything under control my little baby>" said Haruko. <"don't worry. Just sit back and relax>'
Seeing how he could do very little else, Naota did relax. He found himself falling into brief periods of hibernation. These periods lasted no more than ten minutes. He heard Haruko responding to questions in his voice which gave him the impression that Haruko now adopted his form while in school. Sometime around lunchtime Naota actually fell asleep
Naota found himself in the white void again sitting on the throne that Haruko had been sitting on. There were shackles attached to the throne but the shackles wasn't holding him down. He looked around.
"What is this place?" He asked.
"Let's call it my temple" said Haruko, suddenly walking into view. She was completely naked.
"You expect me to worship you now?" asked Naota dryly.
"You did earlier" said Haruko with a toothy grin.
"Why is it in a white void?" asked Naota
"It's not" said Haruko coming right up to Naota and tracing her finger on his cheek. "Your tiny monkey brain just can't perceive more"
Naota considered this.
"So what sort of a goddess are you?" asked Naota as Haruko was leaning in for a kiss. When he had asked the question there was a flicker of disappointment played on her face and she leaned back and considered the question
"Sex, Drugs and Rock 'N' Roll" Haruko finally said with a grin.
Naota gave her a look.
"Why do you think I use this as my weapon?" asked Haruko, now having her bass guitar in her hands. She strapped the guitar over her shoulder and started to strum it. After a few minutes of tuneless notes she settled and started to play "Stairway to Heaven" As she played, Haruko spoke
"I'm technically a muse" said Haruko. "A goddess of inspiration and the arts.....and my art is Rock 'N' Roll. I inspired McCartney, Hendrix and all the rest of them. I was born in the turbebnt times of the '60s in America. It was a time of tremendous change......it was that uncertain energy that gave birth to me. I have traveled down roads no human has gone down. I have sang the unwritten songs that never made it on the air. I have witnessed all the band break-ups and wept. I inspired the punk movement. I inspired free love and free sex. I have comforted artists the world over...."
As Haruko spoke, Naota was transfixed by her playing and words. As she played she was surrounded by a golden radiance that made her look divine. A spotlight shone down on her from somewhere above....and she started to grow wings and other unearthly features. Her guitar playing turned into something that was truly divine and Naota found that he had gotten off the throne at some point and was prostrating in front of the guitar goddess standing before him
The song ended and the spell on Naota lifted. He stood up shakingly as Haruko walked towards him and gently messed up his hair.
"I......" sputtered Naota hardly knowing what to say.
"That is who I am, mortal" said Haruko.
".....but you also said you were an alien" said Naota.
"I left Earth to explore the wonders of creation" said Haruko. "Earth became too confining for me so I left to explore the cosmos"
"....and that's when you ran into Atomsk"
Haruko nodded. "But enough serious talk. Let's have some fun"
"In the middle of school?" asked Naota.
"I have everything under control"
(( Note: I thought long and hard about what kind of goddess Haruko should be.....and then it just hit me. The goddess of sex, Drugs and rock n roll made perfect sense for her since she has vast knowledge about guitars and artists. She was born in America because I wanted to reference the book "American Gods".....))
