"So, do you have more to say to me mother dear?" Asked Naota after a lengthy pause. Haruko said nothing at first. Naota felt his prison shift again and now he was in a somewhat uncomfortable position. He shifted his position to something more comfortable. It felt that Haruko had sat down. Maybe she was really going to the bathroom.
"<....I don't know where we'll go if I do decide to runaway>" said Haruko in a voice that didn't quite suit her; it was neither her mocking voice or her serious one. It was just odd, as though she didn't meant to speak to Naota. "<despite how much i hate this Podunk town, I've grown to like it>"
"You don't sound like you...." said Naota quietly. "Is everything alright?"
Haruko sighed. "<Why did you fell in love with me..... even after you learned I was just using you to get to Atomsk?">
This question caught Naota by surprise. Why was Haruko asking such a thing. Did Naota even knew the answer to that question? It did seem odd that he would profess his love towards somebody that didn't really love him and was just using him. Of course there were many definitions to "love"..
"Despite everything you've done to me... " said Naota. "My life was dull before you came along. I came to secretly like all that crazy stuff we got into.....and I even started to like you, even if that doesn't make any sense. Love doesn't make any sense I guess"
There came the sound of a flushing toilet. And the womb shifted again as Haruko started to walk again
"Are you being serious because I'm effecting your hormones while I'm in here.....Why are you being so serious all of a sudden?" Asked Naota.
"<Serious is overrated>" came the reply. "<now mommy needs some sleep now.... >"
Haruko returned to the bedroom she shared with the boy that was currently in her womb. She climbed into the bed and settled in. She rubbed her belly absent-mindedly. She was asleep in minutes.
