The crash site was off the road so Haruko and Naota had gotten off of the vespa to get closer to the green blob that looked like jelly. It was Haruko that had stepped closer and picked up the smallish blob. She examined it closely while Naota looked around. There was no sign of anything else in the area.
"What do you think it is?" asked Haruko taking a curious sniff at the thing. Then she licked it. "Hmm....tasty"
"You really gonna eat that?" asked Naota dryly.
"Who says I'm gonna eat it?" asked Haruko. The blob of jelly in her hands suddenly moved up her arm towards her head. Haruko moved her head away but the blob continued up her arm.
"That thing is definitely alive" said Naota.
"Never heard of a jelly that's alive" said Haruko as the blob crawled to the top of her head. She pulled it off and held it at arm's length away from her.
"Hey, jelly" said Haruko. "Can you hear me? Can you speak?"
"Hey, jelly" parroted the jelly in a feminine voice. "Can you hear me? Can you speak?"
"Whoa" said Naota.
"Repeating me eh?" asked Haruko. "I'm the Lord master of the universe"
The jelly said nothing. Naota eyed Haruko. Haruko only smiled.
"Well....let's go" said Naota. "Nothing else we can do here"
"Eat me" said the jelly. "For me to fully take your form, you have to eat me"
"What th--?" asked Haruko. "So you can talk"
"Yes" replied the jelly. "I can take any form but I have to be eaten to assimilate your form"
Haruko and Naota exchanged glances.
"Won't you die?" asked Naota.
"Obviously not" said Haruko.
"My kind is virtually indestructible" said the jelly. "We can live just about anywhere"
"Handy...." said Haruko in a thoughtful voice.
There was no indication of just where the jelly was speaking from; there was no evidence of a mouth or any other features.
"Well" said Haruko. "I am a bit peckish"
She raised the jelly to her mouth and swallowed it before Naota could stop her. Haruko rubbed her stomach. "Yum"
Haruko turned to walk back to the waiting vespa when she gagged.
"Haruko!"
"I'm fine Takkun" said Haruko taking another step before doubling over. It looked as if she was gonna vomit up the jelly for a minute but something else happened; she started to grow! Ten, twenty, thirty feet and Haruko still grew! Naota backed up as the alien menace grew. Haruko didn't stop growing until she was 100 feet tall. Her clothes had torn off leaving her naked.
"Whoa.....what a rush" said Haruko. She looked down at Naota and smiled. "Oh....You look like a toy, Takkun"
"Um...Why did you grow?' asked Naota.
"Dunno" said Haruko. "Maybe eating jelly-girl has that effect on people"
Haruko then turned her attention to Mabase. She got an evil glint in her eye and also gained a drunken expression.
"Haruko...." said Naota.
"That's Mistress Haruko to you" said Haruko.
"Don't smash up my home city!"
"Why shouldn't I?" asked Haruko in her mocking voice. "This is the best thing that ever happened to me and I'm gonna enjoy it" She reached down and plucked up Naota and brought him to her smiling face.
"Don't eat me!"
"I'm not gonna eat you" said Haruko, petting Naota's head with her finger. "I'd miss you too much. And besides, I don't eat my pets"
"I'm not a pet" protested Naota.
"Funny, you look like a pet to me" said Haruko.
