Paige led Jim into the vast backyard of the mansion. They had passed the kitchen on thier way out. Jim caught a glimpse of several Terrans in what looked like a meat locker. He shuddered, hoping that he wouldn't wind up on the menu.
Connie, not wanting to be alone, followed Jim and Paige. In the backyard, there was a swing set and a sizable pool. There was also a hot tub filled what looked like molten lava. There was another house beside the pool. This house was 2 stories tall, and had 3 bedrooms in it and one living room that merged with a kitchenette. Paige went straight for the third bedroom of the bathhouse.
"Where are we going?" asked Jim.
"To take a swim" said Paige.
"Oh..." said Connie. "but we haven't got any swim trunks"
Paige begin to dig in one of the bedroom closet's--for there were two. Jim kept looking around, afraid that Millie would sneak up on him and gobble him up.
"Here you go" said Paige, handing Jim a pair of swim trunks. She handed Connie some swim wear too.

Millie Clanclan made her way through the woods that surrounded the mansion. She was walking to nowhere in particular. She just wanted to get out of the house before she ate that little Terran youngster. For she wanted to eat the Terran...he looked deliciois. But he was a guest. And Millie's parents told her not to eat any guests...even if the guest was a Terran. But, as soon as Millie caught sight of Jim, her mouth started to water. She had an uncontrollable urge to pounce on the Terran, and gobble him up in record time. Well...later tonight, she would feast on him. Jim was nothing more than a mouthful to Millie.
If Aisha found out that Millie ate her Terran friend...Aisha would be on the war path. So...Millie had to eat that Terran in a secret place where Aisha couldn't find her. And Millie knew just the place. There was a sizable lake 4 miles to the south of the mansion. The lake belonged to the Clanclan estate, because there were no other Ctarl-Ctarl families around. Millie would take that Terran to the lake, and then eat him. The plan seemed perfect. But how to get the Terran to the lake?

John waited 20 minutes after the starcruiser had landed before he moved from his hiding place. The starcruiser was pretty much deserted now, and John had no trouble in sneaking out of the ship. The trouble was when he was just about to leave the spaceport. That was when someone called to him.
"Hey, Terran"
The voice didn't belong to Hojoma or Lokor, which made John slightly happier. The voice had come from directly below him. Startled, John looked down to see that he had just stepped on a sleeping Ctarl-Ctarl! He leapt off of the Ctarl-Ctarl and started to run as fast and as hard as he could. He couldn't be caught by one of those monsters, or he would find himself in a stomach. The Ctarl-Ctarl ran after him, and he was soon in the clutches of the ctarl-ctarl.
"LET ME GO!!" yelled John.
"Quiet!" snapped the Ctarl-Ctarl. "I won't hurt you"
'Yeah, right' thought John. Aloud, he said "Let me go, please!"
"I can't help you if you keep on yelling like that" said the Ctarl-Ctarl.
Help him? Help him to become a meal, maybe.
"Why do you wanna help me?" asked John. "you're just a man-eating beast!"
"I dislike the term 'beast'" said the Ctarl-Ctarl. "but I don't eat Terrans"
