In an anime where giant robots battle messengers of God, you’d expect the cause of strange transforms to be related to ether technology or magic. If someone, lets say, became able to eat another person then it would doubtlessly be caused by some kind of lab accident or assault by the angels. But in this story, nether routes are taken. The cause that turns a semi-normal character of Evangelion into a hungry people eater is just a single beer can. That’s right, a beer can.
A normal everyday beer can gets turned into a drink of vore by accident at the processing plant. Maybe it had to do with the plant being built over an angels remains, or maybe it was just a act of God against those that killed it’s messengers, or maybe the company goofed on the new, extra fizzy formula and this can was the end result. The reason is irrelevant, the result matters and the result is that this can is sitting inside Major Misato Katsuragi fridge next to a hundred other outwardly same cans. Today, someone will drink from this can and be changed forever, but who will get to it first?
