There's no way out at this point. Nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. It's scary, but if it's your time to go, it's your time to go. Besides, what if he really is holding a cure? You'll never know if you keep turning tail and run. Keep your head high and dont ever look back!
You swallow hard, "...Yeah. I'm ready. Let's do this."
Albert nodded, "Erm... good. Good. Glad to see your um, enthusiasm!" For some reason, he sounded a little unsure of himself there. Why, you wonder?
Judging by the way he was eyeing your wife, THAT might be the answer. 'Um... Angela, dear. Would it be alright if I had a um, minute alone to speak with your husband... in private?" In private?! Why the hell does he need to speak to you in PRIVATE? Whatever he has to say to you, he can say in front of her! Unfortunately, you lacked the necessary guts to speak to someone almost a hundred times your size like that!
Angela, on the other hand, didnt seem to mind. "Sure. I'll leave you two alone. Do what you gotta do!" she answered as she set you down on the ground. ...'Do what you gotta do'?
"Gracias, my dear!" Albert thanked her just before clapping his hands. In an instant, two much much smaller maids appeared to Albert's side.. or technically to his knee.
"Sí, Señor Gigante?" the two maids spoke in unison.
"Would you kindly show Mrs. Mcminor around while I have a moment alone with my... patient?" Damnit, will he stop doing that?!
"Sí, Señor Gigante!" the two maids bowed and replied as they escorted your wife off to the garden.
"Call me when youre finished, ok honey?" she replied. Youre unsure who she was talking to...
Now it was just you and him. David and Goliath. Jack and the Giant. The Colossus and that guy who was hunting down the Colossi to save the princess. You werent afraid, you were TERRIFIED. You were shivering and shaking as you were left at the mercy at this titantic doctor whom you agreed to leave your wife to when you die.
Albert, finally turned to you, looking straight down as he pulled out a cigar from one of his pants pockets and a lighter from the other. He lit the cigar and took a deep breath of it before blowing a big smoke cloud over your head. Not a good sign.
"It's... been a while," Albert finally spoke. His voice sounded rather cold, "...since I had a good smoke."
You sighed hard and took a deep breath, "...Whatever youre gonna do to me, could you make it quick?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Why dont we just cut the crap?" you finally built the courage to speak up, "I know what youre hear for. Hurry up and do it. Just promise me you'll take very good care of my wife and kids, ok?"
For some reason, he seemed a little clueless, "I... am not quite sure I understand."
"WILL YOU COME OFF YOUR GIANT HIGH-HORSE ALREADY, YOU FUCKING OGRE?!" Whoa. You didnt actually think you had it in you! Even Albert's big eyes widened when you said that, "...I know why you brought me here. You and Angela want to kill me? Then just fucking do it. I'm right here! Hurry it up, doc."
He finally plucked that cigar out of his mouth. "...Steven? Is that really what you thought? You honestly believe... I was going to do something so horrible as that to you?"
...What? "Wa-wait. You... you DONT wanna kill me?"
"NO!" he shouted so loud, the earth around him rumbled, "of course not! Steven, you are like a kindred spirit! We shared such hardships! We are both freakshows in the same carnival of life. Why would I do something so horrible to one of my own?"
...Yikes. Now you feel like shit. The guy seemed so deeply sincere when he said that. Perhaps you really need to stop watching so much tv!
"Then... what did you bring me here for?" you asked him.
"I just told you," Albert answered as he pulled a test-tube full of blueish inside, "I found a cure for your illness. One sleepless night, I decided to do a little a test, mixing both virus cells of SMS and PBS together and came up with an incredible result. It seems when the PBS virus come in contact with SMS virus, the SMS nuclei seems to absorb the PBS cells and slowly deteriorates and weakens into a vulnerable state in which the white blood can easily eradicate the remains left behind. This is the result!"
"So in other words," you guessed, "your syndrome can kill MY syndrome?"
"If that is how you want to put it," he answers, "however... I am afraid I cannot just hand this over to you for free. There is something... or rather someONE that I want in return for the cure!" FIGURES! OF COURSE THERE'D BE A CATCH! THE DAMN SNAKE!!
"Let me guess! You want my wife, right?!"
"Of course not!" OF COURSE....Not? "I'm sorry, but I do not want anything to do with that woman."
Of course, you dont believe that. "Are you kidding?! After all that time you've been spending with her behind my back..."
"We talked every once in a while," he interrupted, "but mostly, regarding you. Recently, we've been attending a few book clubs together, but I think she only joined them to keep in touch with me about the progress."
"Then what about her saying that it was fun to play with in the bedroom?!" you remembered the stuff your darling daughter said, "and reading her that bedtime story, the Kama Su-"
"Heh!" Albert laughed a little, "you know, I could of sworn I heard another girl spread a similar rumor about me like that before. What can I say? Some people, they can be just childish." Eh... cant exactly blame him. He apparently IS popular with the ladies.
Alright, perhaps it's best to give him the benefit of the doubt.
"Ok, ok, fine!" you give up, "if it's not my wife, then who exactly is it? ...It's not my daughter, right?"
Albert shook his head, "No... the one that I want... is you."

"...Oh. Oh. OH. OHHH!! Oh.... oh? Oh. ...ohh.. oh! Oh ho ho ho! ...Eooh... oh-oh. Oh ho! Oooh. Oh. Oh youre gay?" was pretty much the only thing you could come up with saying that moment! Seriously, it did take you by surprise! Of all the... I mean, well... sheesh! Eee!
"Youre... youre joking, right?" Albert didnt say anything. He wasnt joking. "But... but why?"
"Well..." the gay doc scratched the back of his head, "perhaps my search for a good woman was nothing but a dead end. So many women that I could have... so many that I did not want. Perhaps in the end, what I REALLY was a good man." That wasnt very poetic, but-
"And ever since the day you were brought into my office... I felt some sort of bond with you. Like we were two sides of the same coin. It saddened me to tell you that your illness would soon destroy you mentally before it destroyed you physically. And... and when you said that you wanted no other man to look after your wife and children when you pass on other than the kind Dr. Albert Gigante, I... I just..."
You coulda sworn you noticed him try to fight back a tear!
"Your... your wife... " what about your wife? "when I heard how she couldnt wait for you to pass on, I... I felt I had to hurry and act as soon as possible. She... she cannot be trusted."
"What are you talking about?"
"I fear she is plotting your death," he openly admitted, "honestly, after spending time with her for a while, I learned she is a very cold woman. Cruel, bitter-hearted... a kind-hearted gentle person like you deserves much better!"
Normally after hearing him say that about your wife, you'd climb up his pant leg and rip off his gigantic balls with your bare hands, but come to think of it, Angela (if that IS her real name!) has been acting a bit shady for a while! Could she honestly want to do something so... so...
"I can offer you everything that woman cannot and will not," Albert told you, "Not just a cure, but fame, fortune, wealth beyond your wildest dreams, and a long luxurious lifetime for you and your children. What do you say?"
Damned if you arent tempted. Sure, youre not gay, but then again, you'd be a made man! Everything you'd ever want at your fingertips and then some...
Do you dare abandon this life... for THIS one?
"Goodbye cure" or "Hello Husband"?
