The Real Truth Tiny Way Of Life chapter 12 by copier · original author: penslayer5

After taking a few minutes to hear your sister out and processing what she had to say, a deep sigh escaped your lips. A small part of you didn't want to believe her. That still small, traumatized part of yourself that had yet to move on after years of constant abuse.

Tulip had put you through hell when you were younger, but you also had to remember that she was even younger than you were at the time. She was an immature little hellion that didn't fully grasp the concept of right and wrong until she had to grow up and take a long hard look at herself.

When she did, she finally understood just how badly she messed up. You could still remember all the lengths she went through to apologize and show you how sorry she was. It literally took the combined efforts of your mother and your older sister Tracy for you to finally up and forgive her.

While you did forgive her, you never ever forgot what she did to you. You'd never forget the nightmares, anxiety, and fear of just being alone in a room with her. Therapy helped but you could never take that final step and let go. You know you should but there was just something deep down inside holding you back.

Was it anger? Was it fear? Was it a messy combination of both. Years passed but the scars never healed. Maybe? Maybe it was time to finally bury the hatchet and put those bad memories to rest once and for all.

"Stevie? Are you still there?" Tulips voice called out to you. It was then you noticed everyone in the kitchen was now looking at you, wondering what you were going to say next. You'd called Tulip put expecting her to confess her crimes so you could chew her out and cut her off for good but that didn't seem to be the case.

For some odd reason or another you just couldn't shake the fact that she was telling you the truth and that your son had fed you yet another one of his tall tales. "Yeah, I'm still here. Listen, Tulip, I think that my son here just fed me another one of his wild stories."

Jet looked away in shame as he knew he'd been caught red handed. He didn't know why he lied, but that was just his first instinct when he thought he was going to get in trouble. "Sorry."

"I think you also owe your aunt Tulip an apology as well little man." Angela spoke softly.

"Sorry, aunt Tulip." Jet said into the phone.

"It's alright little man, just don't go telling your father anymore tall tales. Lying is bad... unless you a lawyer or car salesman but that something for a different day." She giggled over the line.

This actually earned a giggle from you and your wife. You then turned your attention towards Jet and dismissed him. You'd have to talk to him again later about why it was bad to lie. "Hey Tulip...?"

"Yeah?" She asked.

"When's the next time you're in town?"

As the conversation continued in the kitchen, Jet took a seat by the couch in the living room. He felt really bad for lying and for almost getting his aunt in trouble when all she'd ever been was nice to him.

His pity party was soon interrupted by Jenny who'd followed him out of the kitchen and taken a seat next to him. "Sorry for eating you."

"It's okay." He replied. Was he going to have nightmares, yes. Did he want to be alone right now? Absolutely not. "Thanks for checking on me."
