A second after Jet hears the gulp, he sees his sister wiping her mouth with her hand. "Ah", she says satisfyingly as she scooches herself around to face Jet and Mandy.
She puts her hand on her tummy and looks down. There is a moment of silence while Jenny sits there, trying to feel her father in her tummy. She then turns to Mandy and frowns, "he's not moving around like Jet does." "He didn't in my tummy, either." Mandy said, agreeing.
Jet watches as Jenny gets up and walks over to him. She plops herself down next to him. Her hand then reaches down and grabs him. She then throws him at Mandy, who instinctively catches him. "Jet is way better, you can feel him wiggling inside the whole time! You should try!"
Mandy looks down at Jet, whose eyes are wide open. "I can't, I'm not allowed", she says sadly. "Why not?" "My mommy says I can't." Jenny frowns, "It's okay. Jet doesn't mind." Jet does mind, but he can't manage to form the words. He likes playing with his sister, but it doesn't feel the same, sitting in this girls hands.
Mandy isn't really hungry, having eaten all of her dinner. She supposes that there is still enough room for the little guy, but she also remembers what her mother told her earlier.
What does Mandy decide?
