"You'll sleep in my room, from now on." Tien informs you curtly, stupefying you even further as you gawk at her from within Sora's grasp. "Oh, not in my bed of course. I'm a happily married woman, after all" she promptly clarifies, the corner of her mouth turning up at you in wry amusement. "With luck, maybe you can talk Sam into it. That'd be a different story."
"Moooom!" Sora whines hotly, flushing red along with you as Tien brazenly winks your way at that last bit. Tien just waves it off as she finally walks out. "Only teasing, sweetie. You two have fun, now!"
"...so." A moment of silence passes following her mother's departure, until you finally break the ice by posing a question. "Sam is your stepmother, I take it?"
Sora lets out a sigh, and nods. "Yeah," she says, somewhat morosely. "She's reeeeaaally pretty..."
You're not quite sure why she told you that, or why she sounded so dejected about it, but you decide to put that aside for now. "Anyway, this... pet thing," you tell her, straightening up and speaking assertively. "Look, it just means I agreed to stick around for a while. This doesn't change anything about what we talked about yesterday, okay? You're still going to have to respect my boundaries and all that."
You try to sound firm and definitive, looking straight into Sora's eyes as she looks down at you, surprised. In front of that gaze, you stand your ground, not giving away your climbing apprehension as you wait for an answer. Truth is, there's really nothing you can do about it if she refuses to listen to you anymore. You do your best to hide your mounting sense of apprehension as she takes a disconcertingly long time to answer...
Sora, for her part, is trying to work out how to deal with her new friend-turned-pet's swiftly demanding respect and rights. With Stevie having just voluntarily given himself over to her a mere few minutes ago, she'd felt like she must be the happiest, luckiest girl in the world to get such a gift from someone she just met earlier in the week. Now, it seems like they haven't even gotten started, and he seems like he's already getting cold feet and trying to walk his promise back...
The question is, does she decide to acquiesce these sudden demands?
