"Okay lil' guy, we're here~" she says bringing you over to a bowl of cheerio's on the kitchen table. You get ready to jump off her hand as she brings you down when suddenly, instead of setting you down next to it, she tips her palm over and drops you flailing right into the bowl!
You yell out in surprise at the sudden fall and then crash through a couple layers of baked grain loops, allegedly rich in complex carbs and fibers, good for the heart and whatever. You splash through the sea of cold milk underneath and bump into the bottom of the bowl before jumping up, shoving through the layers of cheerio's again to surface and vent your displeasure.
"Hey, what gives!?" You shout, sputtering and wiping milk from your eyes to glare at the laughing tween. The whole thing wouldn't leave you with any bruises or anything, but it hadn't exactly tickled either.
Sora tried to stop laughing as your tiny, milk-soaked figure fumed at her from her bowl of cereal. "Sorry!" She giggles, clearly failing. The cheerios keep bumping up against you, and you shove them away angrily. "You just had the swim trunks, so I couldn't resist!"
You sigh deeply and calm down as she eventually gets control of her amusement, then you wade over to lean back against the rim of the bowl where you grab a cheerio and, with as much dignity and patience as you could manage in the circumstances, pick it up and start taking bites from the soggy end. "Whatever." Actually, it was pretty tame compared to some of the 'fun' you've had in bathtubs growing up... or hunting rats and cockroaches for sustenance, more recently. Yeah, roaches. If you prepared them just right, you could trick yourself into pretending you were fooling yourself into thinking it was lobster...
Having calmed down, Sora sits down and pulls the bowl with you in it closer, right up to the edge of the table, snapping you out of your reminiscence and also getting you smacked by a few more cheerios. You look up to object, but change your mind and let it go, seeing her look down at you with what looks like innocent curiosity rather than mischief this time. She leans over you with her elbows on either side of the bowl, hands together on the table in front of them. Taking up most of your field of view from ahead or above, the giant normal-sized little girl stares down at you with the typical intense gaze of a kid who's trying really hard to act like patiently at the moment, her little pigtails dangling over either side of your little milk-tub.
Of course, a lifetime of being tiny had left you with a very different concept of personal space compared to other people, so this stranger's literally looming over you all of a sudden didn't even faze you. You'd be an absolute nervous wreck by now, if you hadn't long since gotten used to that sort of thing.
"What's up?" You call up at Sora, swallowing down the deliciously rich, flavorful mouthful of bland carbohydrates and 2% milk you were chewing, your first quasi-civilized food in months. Clearly, she was dying to ask you something. Come to think of it, that actually made perfect sense. It's not like she was expecting something like yo- wait a minute.
"Say, how come this cereal was just sitting here?" You ask. "While you were in your room, I mean?" The rest of the house had looked impeccably clean, even her room. She didn't seem like the type to just leave food lying around.
"Oh, I poured it after I got home and before I went to my room to look at you" she says matter-of-factly.
Well, obviously. "Yeah, but why leave it here instead of eating it?" You elaborate.
She frowns a little. "I like to let it soak. I don't like chewing crunchy things, they scrape up your mouth and get jammed in your teeth." She makes a face, then changes subjects. "Anyway, what were you doing out on the sidewalk?"
Well, fair enough you suppose. She looks like she's been wanting an explanation for quite some time. Putting aside your cheerio for the moment, you take a deep breath and-
