Keitaro was with Eiko and Yayaoi as they drove back to Mizukob Kuyo Temple. Eiko was driving with Yayaoi in the passenger's seat while Keitaro sat in the back. Yayaoi wore her usual purple outfit, Keitaro wearing a golf shirt, teal sweater, light brown jacket and low cut shoes, Eiko had a shoulder less pink sweater with a long brown skirt and low cut shoes as well. A dread look on Keitaro's face as he recognized the area they just came to. He looked at Yayaoi and Eiko. Yayaoi had her usual, expressionless face while Eiko while excited, Keitaro could see nervousness and shaking from her.
"W-what are we doing back here, Yayaoi-chan?" Keitaro asked nervously and scared.
Yayaoi turned to look at Keitaro and answered, "This is the place where we will find the cure for both Eiko and yourself."
Keitaro seemed to sigh a bit but was still scared stiff remembering the last time they came here. They were chased by the corrupted Hariti and the unborn who made the goddess turn that way. They were lucky to escape. Yayaoi was able to clip finger off of the Hariti statue at the shrine.
"Isn't that finger figurine that you made out of the goddess finger enough?" Eiko asked curiously
Yayaoi shook her head, " With what we are right now, no. Despite the graduates with me, we still lack the power to take on the Kuubo that abducted my mother." she explained.
"So we literally gonna capture a goddess. Oh fun!" Keitaro said sarcastically.
"It was my original intention but the situation before was dangerous and I sprained my leg. Now that's it all better and I have the proper tools to capture the Hariti." Yayaoi explained.
Keitaro looked at her in disbelief, "This was her actual intention from the start?!? What did get myself into?!?"
But remembering that this will help get rid of the curse plaguing him and Eiko, he made his resolve to do it. Eiko had parked her van. The three exited and came to the base of the temple. Keitaro shook at the overwhelming presence emitting from the temple. He and Eiko gulped nervously.
"It seems pretty angry." Eiko said, bit shaken in her voice as the two turned to Yayaoi.
"Well, we did chip her finger off. So it wouldn't be surprising she is." Answered Yayaoi.
"She's still as nonchalant as ever." Keitaro said in disbelief. "What's the plan?"
The three gathered and huddled as Yayaoi began to explain. Keitaro would be the decoy while Yayaoi would set the trap. Eiko would need to eliminate the unborn surrounding the goddess to diminish the resentment that it had been corrupted with. Yayaoi gave Eiko and Keitaro two substitutes, some paper dolls, binding rope for Keitaro while Eiko was given a charm and a pair of bracelets.
"What are these for?" Eiko asked curiously.
"The pair of bracelets are for added protection when you use the charm. The substitutes will protect you from harm but will not intervene what the charm will do." Yayaoi explained.
"What does the charm do?" Keitaro asked. Worried for Eiko.
"There's an inscription on the back that explains how to use it. Only a woman can use it." Yayaoi explained again.
"Whoa! I can sense a lot more vengeful spirits that before." Keitaro said while looking upward at the abandoned temple.
"Of course there is. We haven't been here in a while so there should be more." Yayaoi followed up on.
"That's not reassuring." Eiko said nervously as she held Keitaro's hand.
"There's no turning back, it's probably an s class haunted site now." Yayaoi said.
Keitaro sighed, "Lets get this over with. It's a cure for both our curses and I committed to protect the people I love and care about." He looked at Eiko who blushed a bit as they're hands tighten.
They began to walk up the temple and towards the shrine. As the goddess began to emit a malicious aura surrounded by infants.
"Holy cow! That's twice as many than before!" Keitaro yelled at the sight.
He began to run immediately as the goddess and the infants chased after him. Dodging ambushes while Yayaoi was also defeating infants that attacked her. Yayaoi began to set up the trap for the goddess but they need to weaken it first. Taking out or placing the spirits in straw and paper dolls was time consuming as more unborns may make their way to where they were. Time was of essence.
Meanwhile, Eiko who had split up from the two found herself cornered by a lone unborn. It was dark as it's eyes and mouth were blood red. Eiko back into a tree. Thanks to the bracelets, it blocked it's attacks. But Eiko didn't know how long it'll last and the substitutes in her possession were a last resort. She began to look at the charm that Yayaoi gave to her. She turned it to it's backside to see an inscription.
Place on lower abdomen and it should do the rest.
Eiko gulped and lifted her sweater to reveal her bare, flat belly as she placed the charm on it. It began to glow bright gold color causing the shadow unborn to block it's eyes.
"In wonder what the charm that Yayaoi gave me does." a puzzled Eiko wondered as the light faded.
Unaware that it had given her the ability to unbirth the unborn spirits into her womb and entrap them!
