Negi falls into the cauldron!

The cauldron quite tall as Negi needed a stool. Even with that, he needed to tip toe to stir and see into the cauldron of the potion he was brewing. Luckily, it had cooled down as per instructions. He began to think on what to do next.
"Hmmmmm.. I need to gather this into a vial and test it on a plant to see what it does." Negi said to himself.
He jumped down, off the stool and walked towards the table where he took a flask. He went back to the stool and stood on top of it. He too toed once more as he began to enter the mouth of the cauldron to gather his newly formed potion. Soon he was dangling from the mouth of the cauldron.
"Almost....there!!" Negi grunted as he struggled to fill his flask of the potion when all of a sudden he fell into it!
"Whoa!" Negi yelled as a large splash was heard. Negi had fallen into the cauldron!
Negi soon pulled himself out of the cauldron. Soaked in his creation. A bit disappointed, he failed to fill his flask.
"I better change before Asuna gets angry at me!" Negi thought as he looked at his drenched clothing.
He had also drank some of the potion. Forgetting to take notes of the taste, texture and composition of it. More scared of being punished by Asuna.
"Ah!" Negi yelled as he began to feel pain. "Is the potion already effecting me! I need to get help!"
Negi was worried what might happened to him!
What does the potion do to him?
