Of all the things Miss Kobayashi expected to see when she went to leave for work for one day, the last thing was a dragon on her doorstep. Of course, that surprise was easily topped when said dragon suddenly morphed into a beautiful girl with horns and a tail in a maid outfit….a maid outfit more akin to cosplay than an actual uniform, but that was beside the point. A million thoughts raced through her head at that moment, but when the girl asked her if she could come inside, for some reason she said yes. From there, Kobayashi learned that the girl was named Tohru, and that her latest drunken bender had led to her not only discovering Tohru in the mountains, but also inviting her to live in her apartment as her maid. That last detail did add up for Kobayashi, but the rest? Yeah, it was too weird for her.
“Are you certain…it’s impossible?...I understand. My apologies as well for dropping in so suddenly.” That was that, Tohru was all set to leave peacefully, but as she walked away, Kobayashi saw the tears in her eyes. A pang of guilt surged within her, and Kobayashi astounded even herself when she ran after Tohru….admittedly, she was late for work and needed her to fly her there, but it still seemed to smooth things out….for the moment. As Miss Kobayashi would come to learn, having a dragon for a maid can be very…interesting.
“Next, Laundry Maid; do laundry.” Despite Tohru’s confidence for such a task, Miss Kobayashi was already skeptical of her skills. The fact that she had used magic fire to get rid of all her belongings when tidying up the apartment had already made her doubtful, even when Tohru brought back everything with a spell. Of course, fire and magic were common knowledge for the topic of dragons. It was what Tohru did next that was truly shocking, as Miss Kobayashi watched her stuff one of her shirts into her mouth! Tohru’s cheeks bulged and some drool leaked from her maw as she swished the fabric around. “I can produce a saliva that removes all stains.” Is what she said while her mouth was full of the shirt she was pulling past her lips. Kobayashi’s response was thus, “Gross! No one wants to see that!”
By the end of Kobayashi’s trials, after she watched her nearly kill a deliveryman while saying how pathetic and horrid humans were in her eyes, plus having Tohru serve up her own tail for dinner, and then watching Tohru eat said tail for it to grow back while casually mentioning the poison in the meat, Kobayashi sat her down and made things abundantly clear, “Hate to break it to you, but you don’t know how to maid.” This naturally crushed Tohru, but at the same time, she refused to give up, insisting that Kobayashi train her from the ground up. That began with her asking Kobayashi what she didn’t like, and her new master listed a few foods she didn’t like. As Tohru responded, at one point she had to bring up something she enjoyed, “However, I can certainly let you know one thing I like. It’s you! I love you, Miss Kobayashi!”
“…..You gonna eat me?”
“No! Not like that! Like sexually!”
Despite Kobayashi’s response at the time being that she’s not into women or dragons, Tohru stated that she couldn’t deny how she felt regardless. No matter what, she vowed to remain by her master’s side, and so she did. Days later, and Tohru was still happily holding down the fort for Kobayashi, though her feelings towards her had not diminished in the slightest, something that Kobayashi could easily see when she spotted Tohru licking her laundry, and lamenting how after being in the wash, there was no more delicious sweat for her to taste. That quickly brought her into another sit down/lecture from Kobayashi.
“I’ve said this before, so don’t make me say it again. Please stop licking my laundry!”
“Kay! Then I’ll take care by licking you directly!”
“No licking me!!!!”
By this point, for the first time, Tohru found herself questioning Miss Kobayashi. She had obeyed every one of her commands, from the simple ones that made sense, to the annoying ones that kept her from harming humans that annoyed her. However, she still could not wrap her head around why Miss Kobayashi wouldn’t want her saliva all over her clothes. No matter how many times she said it was gross, Tohru still didn’t see why she should stop. “I don’t understand,” she thought, “Why go through the trouble of wasting her money on inferior soap and water when my spit works like a charm? Humans do plenty of disgusting things every day and yet they get away with it, so what’s the big deal here?....Wait, that’s it!” An idea popped into Tohru’s head; a very bad idea. “Miss Kobayashi is easily the greatest human on Earth, I mean she’s practically an angel, though I’d hate it if she started serving God. Still, at the end of the day, she is still a human, and humans over here probably know next to nothing about dragons. Maybe she doesn’t believe me when I tell her how clean my saliva is. That’s it! That must be it! If I’m to truly be the best maid I can be, then I’m going to prove to her that I know the best way to keep her clean!”
“Tohru? Hey, Tohru! Are you listening to me?!” Kobayashi yelled. She was about halfway through explaining why she couldn’t harm Makoto, when she saw Tohru’s eyes sparkling as she slammed her fist into her palm. Clearly the wheels in that dragon’s head were turning, and that didn’t exactly fill Kobayashi with confidence. Tohru then stood the both of them up, her head tilted down a bit as she tried to contain her enthusiasm. Kobayashi began to sweat a bit as once more said Tohru’s name, now with concern evident in her voice. “Miss Kobayashi, please let me prove myself. And though you look irresistible, this isn’t because I’m hungry, so trust me,” she then lifted her head and exclaimed, “we’ll both enjoy this!”
What Tohru felt screamed excitement and confidence, but to Kobayashi, the look on her face screamed “Crazy Dragon Hungers For Human Flesh!”
