“Because I like high school girls!” that’s the answer that one Mr. Kimura gave when he was asked why he became a teacher in the first place. Potential lawsuit aside, there are a lot of girls in one of his classes that are really worth liking and not even in the way that can get you fired. There’s Chiyo Mihama, that young girl who should still be in grade school but is such a prodigy that she skipping ahead that always seem to pop up in Japanese schools, who apart from her brain power, is one of the sweetest and cutest girls you will ever meet. In her circle of friends is a girl named Kiyomi “Yomi” Mizuhara, who despite her constant worry about her figure, is also very intelligent and never afraid to speak her mind when faced with stupidity. Another very knowledgeable, but more quiet girl is Sakaki, the tallest of the girls, and a lover of all things cute, mainly cats, though she tends to not talk about that, even though her friends have seen good examples of this trait many times. If you take a step down in the height and brain department, you’d find someone like Ayumu Kasuga, better known by the nickname of her home town “Osaka” who is very spacey and not exactly a future world leader, but is also very sweet and cares deeply for her friends. Finally, there’s Tomo Takino, who’s extremely energetic, yet also a total slacker, very random, the main reason why Yomi suffers routine fat jokes despite not actually being overweight, and the person who asked Mr. Kimura that question in the first place.
Osaka and Chiyo were the newest additions to this group of friends, and on this afternoon, they were all hanging out at the home of the latter. Apart from the sweet and smart girl that she was, being friends with Chiyo also brought the benefit of some rather lavish hang out spots, like the summer home they traditionally all enjoyed when school was over and the weather was hot, and the big mansion she called home that they were at now. All still clad in their pink schoolgirl uniforms, they were all sitting around the table in Chiyo’s room, reflecting on the events of the day.
“I still can’t believe how nuts Ms. Yukari went today.” Yomi said, after sipping her drink. Saying that was kind of an oxymoron since the teacher she was referring to was more off the rocker than Tomo, but all her friends had to agree with her. “I still don’t get it. What was she so mad about?” Tomo asked, which made her glasses wearing friend bury her forehead in her palm at the sheer level of obliviousness she was emitting. Fortunately, Chiyo was there to explain.
“Didn’t you hear? Ms. Kurosawa said that she’s decided to have an arranged marriage. Ms. Yukari threw that desk because she was really jealous.” She said. Even at age eleven, Chiyo could easily see her teacher was envious of her friend. What she didn’t get was why now was when she decided to flip out, since according to Ms. Kurosawa, she’d informed her friend about this weeks ago. Then again, trying to understand the mind of Yukari Tanizaki was like trying to do a Rubik’s Cube blindfolded while somebody tied you to a chair and pushed you down the cliff.
“Maybe she just needs to get some.” Just as everyone had all consented to Chiyo’s explanation, hearing that caused everyone to instantly spit up their drinks. Why they had all drank at the same time seemed rather odd, but not nearly as much as the one girl who didn’t drink, and who said that; Osaka.
“What did you say?!” Sakaki asked, speaking for everyone. “All I’m saying is that Ms. Yukari seemed real tense. I’d guess she hasn’t had a roll in the hay in quite a while.” Osaka answered, but everyone remained slack jawed, all except Chiyo, who had zero knowledge of what the term “Roll in the hay” meant.
“How can you put it so bluntly?!” Yomi said, her cheeks glowing redder and redder. Osaka frowned, as usual unsure that she’d stepped on any toes, but she still apologized “Sorry, I…I guess I’m just used to it. Back at my old school, most of the girls lost their virginities before they even graduated.” Naturally, her friend still wouldn’t accept any of this “That can’t be true.”
“Nah, she’s probably right. I mean, sex is so-” she was going to say common, but Tomo’s mouth was slapped shut too little too late, forcing Sakaki to look into the innocent eyes of the one person who shouldn’t be hearing any of this “Um, Chiyo-chan, maybe you should-”
“What? I know what sex is.” She responded, sending both girls to gasp loudly. Sakaki managed to utter “You…you do?” and while she kept shaking, with Tomo still in her grasp, Chiyo smiled and answered “Of course I do. It’s when a man and a woman take off their underpants and get into bed. Then they-
“STOP TALKING!!!” Yomi shouted, now making Chiyo uncomfortable and unsure of what was wrong. Suddenly shifting her focus to the one who said the S word, she demanded to know “And just how in the heck would you know enough to say that?!” Finally getting pushing Sakaki’s arm off her, Tomo put her foot up on the table and proudly proclaimed “I’ve got more notches in my headboard than you can count. The guys can’t keep their hands off a cute thing like me! Just look at these!” she pushed up her boobs “and this!” then spun around to smack her ass, right in Yomi’s face. No one bought this for a second, and Yomi sighed for everyone.
