Rei and Takashi's Downfall

“We should be out there looking for food. YOU should be out there looking for food. Waiting around is pointless; we should just move on, Saeko will find us. Come on.”
“No, we told her we would meet here,” Takashi said firmly as his childhood friend/girlfriend/dead weight paced around the abandoned fast food restaurant where they were supposed to meet up with Saeko after she surveyed the surroundings. Takashi thought it was a smart move, going out a few at a time, checking the area and then moving on, but Rei wanted to move faster and thought they were wasting their time being cautious. Honestly, Takashi had no idea why she was in such a rush, the last time they moved on without checking it out Rei nearly got bit twice and Takashi had to save her each time.
“Fine,” Rei huffed, obviously not happy with her demands not being listened to. Takashi just sighed and looked out the fast food restaurants windows. He cared about the girl, but she was so headstrong she was bound to be killed soon in the new monster filled world.
“Hold on, I think I see someone.” Takashi motioned for Rei to join him in looking out the window. They both watched carefully, gripping their weapons in case it was one of ‘them’. They both visibly relaxed when they saw it was Saeko and some blonde foreign girl.
“Who’s the hippo with Saeko?” Takashi winced, really hoping that Rei wouldn’t call the blonde that to her face. The blonde with Saeko looked right at them through the window as though she had heard Rei and waved to them. Grabbing Saeko’s hand, she ran up to the restaurant, barging in without a car. Smiling happily, she ran up to Takashi and grabbed his hand.
“Oh My God! It’s so nice to meet you, Saeko’s told me all about you and your even cuter then she said. I mean, don’t get any funny ideas, I have a boyfriend but I still think you're totally cute!” Juliet excitedly giggled as she shook the boys hands vigorously. Takashi could only nod dumbly, uncomfortable with how peppy the blonde was. He looked at Saeko, who just shrugged her shoulders and had no help to give. She was still trying to get used to Juliet’s overeager personality.
“Who is she?” Rei asked, picking up the broken broom handle she had been using as a weapon. She didn’t trust strangers, especially ones that had breasts as big as hers and thought her sorta-kinda-boyfriend was cute.
“She’s…a friend,” Saeko said with a little hesitation. Juliet beamed when she heard the new girl call her a friend. All her BFFs had been eaten and it was so hard to meet new people with the zombie apocalypse going on.
“But that’s not important right now, there is something important I need to talk to you about,” Saeko said as she took a deep breath to muster up the courage to follow through with her decision. After learning about the ability to shrink people and seeing Juliet with Nick, Saeko had come to a few very important choices. First, she needed to get used to knowing far more then she was comfortable with about Juliet’s sex life if she was going to keep the blonde around and second, she wanted the kind of life she had.
“What is it Saeko?” Takashi asked tensely. These days if there was something to talk about it was usually bad news. Seeing him tense up, ready to fight eased Saeko’s doubts. She needed to do this to keep him safe, keep him happy, and keep him as hers.
“Forgive me.”
Saeko made the symbol with her fingers as Juliet had taught her and said the magic word, which sounded surprisingly like ‘burnt toast’ and then pointed her other hand at both Rei and Takashi. It happened just as Juliet said it was, sparkles flew from her hand and then her friends vanished, leaving only their clothes to fall to the ground. Bending down in front of the pile, she reached in to both mounds, feeling around until she found something small and moving. She pulled Rei and Takashi out, both naked, both looking confused and scared. Saeko smiled, this was the right thing to do.
