Saeko stood with her katana at her side, looking at the carnage of dismembered body parts and crushed heads. Minutes ago she had been surrounded by dozens of ‘them’, clawing and biting for a taste of her flesh. She wasn’t sure if she was going to make it this time. The others were checking out a potential safe area they could stay and with so many swarming her she wasn’t sure she could take down them all before one got a lucky bite. She was ready to go down fighting, kill as many of the creatures as possible and maybe herself if she got bit, but then she came and everything changed.
Her weapon was strange, destructive yet beautiful, large yet graceful, bloody yet sparkly. Saeko could swear as she joined in, lopping off heads that she saw rainbows appear when she cut through ‘them’. When they were done and all the monsters were dead, Saeko stood across from her new alley, staring at her chainsaw as she held it carelessly at her side.
“Oh My God! That was great! You are like so good with that sword, you cut through those zombies like a hot knife through butter. Are you a zombie hunter too or are you just a bad ass samurai?” She giggled as she put her hand out to shake her new colleagues hand. Saeko took her hand uncertainty, not used to the American custom of shaking. She studied the blonde that had saved her, trying to get a read on what her story was. She was gorgeous, maybe even more beautiful the Saeko, with golden blond hair in pony tails and a very revealing, tight cheerleaders uniform that had San Romano Knights printed across her large, bouncing chest. The uniform looked a little too tight to Saeko, the girl must have put on a few pounds since she bought it. Her exposed belly had a little bulge on it and the dress seemed to have trouble hiding her butt. Even if she was a little chubby, she was still gorgeous and Saeko still had some questions for her.
“Zombies?” Saeko asked with a raised brow, not familiar with that word.
“Oopsy! I forgot no one says zombies during a zombie apocalypse. It’s all Walkers or the Undead or Monsters. Forget I said anything.” Saeko just looked at the blonde strangely, beginning to questions her sanity. She wouldn’t be the first person to go crazy when the dead started biting, but most were not this cheerful.
“Double oopsy! I forgot to introduce myself, my bad. I’m Juliet Starling or I guess it would be Starling Juliet here in Japan. It must be so confusing having to introduce yourself with your last name first.”
“It’s nice to meet you Juliet. I am Busujima Saeko. Thank you for your help, you are most skilled with your weapon.” Saeko politely responded, not sure what to say about the big, pink chainsaw. Juliet just grinned happily and swung her arm around Saeko to pull her in. Blushing at the close contact, Juliet giggled girlishly. “No worries. Killing these asshats is like my job. I came to Japan because you guys are overrun with these guys so I decided to lend a hand. Not o mention I love the food here. Japanese is just sooo tasty.”
Saeko nodded as Juliet led her over to an abandoned café where they sat down at one of the tables to continue their talk. Saeko had never run into someone this friendly since everything went to Hell and was finding the girls enthusiasm and cheerfulness refreshing. It was like all this carnage didn’t bother her and yet she had proven she could take care of herself in a fight. The truth was that Saeko wished she were more like her, able to brush off everything around her and smile.
“So my family comes from a long line of zombie hunters. We probably were bashing these jerks heads in with clubs back in caveman times. My dad is the best, he’s killed more zombies then me ad my sisters combined. Although, he is older and has been doing this way longer, I mean he’s not that old, but he’s old. My boyfriend Nick is kinda afraid of him, he always tries to hide when he’s near. Have I told you about Nick? He is my boyfriend and he’s so great. He’s always so nice and kind and cute and stuff, even when he was just a head.”
Saeko had listened as Juliet told her about her life, giggling and waving her hands around as she shared every detail. Saeko remained silent as she explained, nodding here and there to show she was listening. This girl was odd, that much should have been very obvious when she ran into a fight with a chainsaw, but Saeko found herself liking this girl more and more and when Juliet asked about her life she opened up about everything. Her training, her school, the day everything changed, the people she was with now. Saeko just opened up and felt good about sharing.
“Sounds like you have to make this Takashi guy your boyfriend. I mean, stealing another girls guy is wrong, I remember on the cheer squad Brittany stole Jenny’s man and they had this awful catfight, but you should totally go for it because he could totally be the one. Also that Rei girl sounds like a bitch,” Juliet explained to Saeko. She was going to respond to that, maybe share a few stories that painted Rei in a bad light, but then Juliet’s pudgy stomach decided to make itself known. Rubbing her gurgling stomach, Juliet reached into the bag she was carrying and pulled out something that made Saeko freeze and her mouth fall open. She had seen a lot, but nothing quite like this.
