Fate Testarossa was not having an easy time getting the Jewel Shards for her mother. Part of the reason for this was the spirited, energetic Nanoha, who has been collecting the shards herself for her own reasons. Her unappreciative mother often both emotionally and physically reprimanded her daughter's failure over and over again, resulting in Fate trying even harder to please her mother.
However, Fate's assistant Arf offered her master a suggestion; a strange green liquid in what looked like a regular can of soda.
"Just use this and you can get rid of that squirt!" the excited dog-girl recommended to Fate, who took the can and held in in her hands.
"But that's cheating.."
"Look, this isn't a game! If we don't get the shards, bad things will happen to the both of us! And you want to please your mother, right?!"
"Of course I do.."
"Well, here's how we'll do it!"
Arf then whispered about her plans to her owner, who got a very shocked expression on her face when she was done listening.
"But..but..she may never change back.." Fate gasped in horror.
"Who cares!? We can swat her out of the way, or I could eat her for lunch! Either way it's win-win!"
The next day
Nanoha cheerfully skipped home from school one Saturday afternoon when she saw Fate. Apparently she was waiting for her right outside the school gates.
"N-N-Nanoha...", the girl nervously said. "I br-br-brought you this can. Are you thirsty?"
"A little bit, yes", she replied as she gently took the can from her friend. "Thank you very much!"
Nanoha then quickly drank down the can's contents in several big gulps. It tasted delicious to her.
"What was that, anyway? It tastes very different from anything I've ever had before", Nanoha asked as Fate's expression saddened then.
