Standing in complete silence, a million things went through Chiharu’s mind as she struggled over what to do. The one thing in the world Chiharu couldn’t stand was seeing the people she cared for suffer, but at the same time, she was terrified about losing Densuke. She knew he loved her, but was also aware that his eyes had a tendency to roam. He never acted on his desires and the thought of him feeling attracted to someone other then didn’t send Chiharu into a jealous fit. Chiharu wanted everyone to be happy, but how could she do that without losing her happiness?
Chiharu remained completely quite, thus catching the faint sound of voices in the other room. Turning to the door Komoe had just left through, Chiharu tiptoed closer to hear whoever was talking better. She wanted something to take her mind off the huge decision that she had to make and a little eavesdropping couldn’t hurt. Slowly cracking the door open a few inches, Chiharu took a look outside the door and saw six figures circled around a seventh. Curious, Chiharu leaned in to listen.
“….Didn’t tell her how you feel?” The confused, angry voice Chiharu recognized right away as her little sister. The younger Mifune was staring angrily at a small figure that Chiharu recognized a second later as Komoe. She could tell it was her because when she stepped forward, her enormous chest became visible.
“I couldn’t tell her. She’s in love with him and if I tell her how I feel, they’ll hate me forever,” Komoe whimpered. The huge chested girl rubbed her sleeve on her eyes, trying to get her tears dry. Looking up with red, puffy eyes, she irately asked Chiharu’s sister a question that left her speechless. “How can I tell Chiharu that I’m in love with Densuke, when you can’t?”
Looking away, unable to meet Komoe’s frustrated gaze, a heavy sigh escaped Yuriko. “It’s harder for me because Chiharu’s my sister. I know she just thinks I’m fooling around when I molest and flirt with Densuke, but telling her I really love him will hurt her. I can’t hurt Chiharu, not even for Densuke.”
“It’s the same for all of us.” Chiharu nearly jumped when she heard the soft voice of Grace Lin. The British girl was usually carefree, but her voice carried much sadness now. “You know I have feelings for Densuke too. Feelings that are stronger then any prediction I could ever make. Densuke’s the only boy that doesn’t want me for my money or thinks my predictions are fake. It’s the small things like his kindness that make me love him.”
Chiharu was utterly in shock after hearing a third girl pronounce their love for Densuke. However, as she thought about it, finding out other girls had feelings for Densuke wasn’t that unbelievable. Densuke was small, weak and slightly perverted, but he had a heart that could win anyone over. There were dozens of occurrences where Densuke selflessly helped the other girls, not even expecting a thank you. He helped them out of the simple compassion in his heart. It was hard not to fall for someone that would always put his friends first.
“If we’re revealing our feelings, I might as well tell you something,” sputtered the green haired women everyone called teacher. The shy woman looked around nervously, unable to find her voice with everyone’s eyes on her. As the seconds ticked by, Yuriko let out an exasperated sigh. “You love him too, don’t you?” Teacher remained still for a second before finally nodding her head. The poor lovestruck teacher was blushing so furiously, she looked like she might keel over any second. To take the pressure of her, and because she had something to say, Kyoto stepped forward before her peers.
The small blue haired girl in charge of the clubs science division looked warily around her. Kyoto loved Densuke like everyone else, but her reasons were that with Densuke she felt comfortable enough to stop being an emotionless scientist and be a little girl for once. Her hidden childish behavior was something she’d take to the grave, so Kyoto told the girl a more logically reason. “I’m highly attracted to Densuke too and find his tolerance for my experiments to be an endearment. If I could, I’d like to be with him as a spouse do to his compatibility both emotionally and physically.”
That was the best love confession Kyoto was going to make, but it was topped when Kuma or Teddy to her friends did something completely unexpected. The girl in the giant bear costume reached up and with a pop removed the head of her massive bear suit. A tiny, frail looking girl’s face was revealed, looking about twelve or thirteen. Blushing at everyone, Kuma smiled weakly and mumbled, “I love Densuke too.”
As Kuma slipped her head back on, everyone looked at the one person that hadn’t said anything. She hadn’t reacted at all to the girl’s revelations that they all loved the same man. All she did was loom over them like a silent giant, moving her eyes from girl to girl as they spoke. Now that everyone had said their piece, it was her turn to let out her true emotions. Closing her eyes to compose herself, Kirika did something no one had ever thought they’d see before, she spoke from the heart.
“Most boys feel two things when they see me, lust or fear. Densuke feels both about me, but instead of trying to avoid me or drooling over my boobs, he’s befriended me, treating me like anyone else. I’ve done a lot of things to him, using my assets to torment and tease him. What makes me think everyday is that if you asked Densuke if he hated me for what I did to him, tormenting, teasing and physically hurting him, he’d smile and say I was just being me and that he couldn’t be upset about that. I want to eat Densuke because he’s indigestible. I want to fuck Densuke because he’s cute. But I want to be with Densuke because I love him. So, now that everything’s been said, does anyone feel any better? Do you feel a weight lifted from your chest? Or do you feel shitty because Densuke is always, always going to belong to Chiharu.”
Nothing was said after that. All the girls lowered their heads and closed their eyes, mourning a relationship they never had. None of them felt angry to learn the other shared their feelings. Actually, learning about it made them feel a tiny bit better. Now they could share their grief.
The seven single girls weren’t the only ones suffering, two people, not meant to have ever heard what was said felt a growing sense of despair inside them. Chiharu stumbled back from the door, tears streaming down her cheeks at hearing the heartfelt words from her friends. Knowing that her relationship was making other suffer made Chiharu wish for something she’d never have dreamed wishing for. She wished she didn’t love Densuke so others had to suffer.
The boy at the center of the controversy felt a tightening in his chest every time he heard one of his friends say they loved him from the tight confines of his greatest loves belly. He loved each girl, not in the same way he loved Chiharu, but as close as one guy could. If Chiharu wasn’t around, dating anyone of the Eiken girls would be a dream. He’d love to date the over developed but caring Komoe or the flirtatious Yuriko or the elegant Grave or the shy, but adorable Teacher or the super smart Kyoto or the concealed Kuma or even the rude, bossy amazon with the heart of gold Kirika. However, he was dating Chiharu and wouldn’t dump her for anyone in the whole world.
It wasn’t fair, it wasn’t right, but Densuke was damned if he was going to let his friends suffer. Somehow he had to find a way to make everyone happy, but how?
