The trip to Cerulean City would take several days...3 or 4 at least. Of course, Misty could've grown 50 feet tall and be in her hometown by sunset, but she wanted to take the long way and catch some pokemon. Besides, she had never visited Mt. Moon before. Mt. Moon had a lot of legends around it...like the legend of Mt. Moon once being a part of the moon's surface that had fallen down to Earth. Or there was the legend about the Clefairy who lived in and around Mt. Moon coming from space. Misty never considered there being pokemon on other worlds like Earth. But, first thing first. In the morning, Misty woke up extra early to stock up on some supplies for the trip; Super Potions, spare pokeballs, etc...and a bagfull of snacks for Misty....snacks as in people. She bought food for Ash (actually, she smashed the local food store in when 50 feet tall and grabbed all the food she could get her hands on; this included people as well as "normal food"--as she called it. Misty let Ash out of his PersonBall and made him carry the extra-filled bag of hers, as well as his own backpack. By 9:00 AM, the two were on thier way to Cerulean City and Mt. Moon. Misty hummed tunelessly while the two walked. Mt. Moon was about a day's travel from Pewter City.
They came up to a sign about 3 miles out of Pewter City. The road also forked. The sign had two arrows on it. The arrow pointing right said "Mt. Moon" while the other arrow said "Shortcut to Cerulean City"
"Shortcut?" asked Misty. She sounded troubled.
"What's the matter?" asked Ash, who was two feet tall due to the effect of being inside a PersonBall.
"There's no shortcut to Cerulean" said Misty.
"Are you su...?" started Ash.
"Of course I am!" snapped Misty.
"So...where does it go if not to Cerulean City?" asked Ash, a little timidly.
"Looks like it leads to a cabin in the woods" said Misty, who had grown to 50 feet tall to look down the mysterious "shortcut" to her hometown. She shrank back down to normal.
"Sounds awfully fishy to me" said Misty. Ash argeed.
"You want to go to the cabin or go on to Mt. Moon?" asked Ash.
Misty thought about it for a minute.
