Sasshi and Arumi saw the world around them fade away. For a moment, only darkness could be seen around the pair, but that soon fell away and was replaced with a busy marketplace. Booths surrounded both of them, with merchants screaming about their products and sales.
“This looks…normal,” Arumi hesitantly said, checking around her for anything unusual. No knights, no martial artists, no robots, nothing you wouldn’t see in a normal market place.
“I think we didn’t leave the real Abenobashi!” Sasshi grinned. He knew it was good they hadn’t been sent on another wild adventure, but he couldn’t help, but feel slightly let down. On their last adventure, he’d gotten to pilot giant robots, take on dinosaurs and even become a Super Saiyan. Of coarse, he’d also died so many times he lost count, but you had to take the bad with the good.
“Meow, do you know where the seafood shop is?” The scratchy voice came from behind the children. They turned and looked at a pink haired girl with cat ears and a tail. Both their faces recoiled into horror at seeing something that definitely didn’t belong in Abenobashi.
“I guess you don’t know, meow.” The cat girl shrugged and continued on her way. It took a minute for both of them to regain their sense, but when they did, Arumi immediately started smacking Sasshi in the head with her fan.
“This is…SMACK!…What happens…SMACK!…When you talk about…. SMACK!…Things that should never be discussed!”
Huffing and puffing, Arumi stopped her assault and walked over to one of the merchants, leaving a heavily bruised Sasshi behind. Arumi recognized him as this world’s version of the surly, but neighborly Kouhei. His stand was seeing shiny trinkets and bottles full of pills. Arumi slowly walked up to him, looking to find some in formation about where they were.
“Excuse me, but where is this?” Arumi asked politely. Kouhei wrinkled his brow and looked at Arumi curiously.
“This is the Abenobashi Vore Shopping Arcade of coarse. Where did ya think it was?” Arumi blinked, unsure of what vore was. Sasshi crawled up next to her, still heavily bruised. Looking towards him for answers, Sasshi shrugged, he didn’t know what vore was either. Arumi looked back to Kouhei for more answers.
“Excuse me again, but…”
“Listen, are ya going to buy something or not, I don’t have all day,” the man harshly said, cutting Arumi off. Narrowing her eyes at the rude man, the impulsive and crude girl glared up at the man behind the booth.
“Listen bub, I just want some answers, got it!” Kouhei blinked several times, caught off guard by the girls venomous tone. He regained his composure and chuckled softly.
“Sorry girly, didn’t men to be impolite. I just got this small problem that’s been bugging me. If you really want some info, I can send you to someone that knows it all.”
“Who?” Arumi asked, smiling that she had finally got somewhere. If they found out more about this world, maybe they’d find another oni and get back home.
“I’ll tell ya, if you do me a favor,” Kouhei slyly said.
“What kinda favor?”
“The person that I know that can give ya some information is the same person I have a problem with. You go to them, offering your little buddy beside ya as my payment and I’ll tell you where to find them. I’ll even throw in some of my best pills.”
“Offering me as what?” Sasshi nervously asked, not liking this deal too much. Arumi covered his mouth and thought about it. They did need some information and usually whatever Kouhei was selling was useful in the new dimensions. Tapping her chin, a decision came to Arumi on what to do.
