Asuka walked down the street. Asuka and Rei had made it back to Roanapur within a hour after waking up. The two were looking for the ruins of the Dimensional Cafe which, according to Rei, was ten blocks away from the docks of a particular street. The street in question had all sorts of skyscrapers that looked fairly new. It looked as if Roanapur was in the midst of an economic boom of some kind.
Shinji had at last settled down in Asuka's stomach. Asuka was looking everywhere; she didn't get the chance to explore a new city that much back in the days when battling angels. Now that she had the opportunity to explore a city like Roanapur she would enjoy it as much as possible.
"How do you know where this cafe is located at?" asked Asuka as the two walked passed by a short skyscraper. This particular skyscraper had caught the attention of Rei for some reason for she paused in her walking in order to look more closely at the skyscraper.
Asuka made a dozen steps before noticing that Rei had stopped walking. Asuka turned around to look at Rei and then she looked at what Rei was looking at.
There was nothing outwardly special about the skyscraper as far as Asuka could tell. It was just another skyscraper as far as Asuka was concerned. The skyscraper had a long sidewalk leading up to a kind of courtyard in front of the building.
As Asuka watched, several people in suits walked in and out of the building carrying suitcases of all sizes. That was when Asuka noticed the apparent name of the building:

"Imagine that" said Asuka walking back to Rei who was still looking at the building that had a law firm in it. "a city as rotten as this having a law firm"
Rei didn't respond. Asuka waved her hand in front of
Rei to get her attention. Rei finally looked over at Asuka.
"Um, hello" said Asuka. "it's just a building"
"Yeah....just a building" said Rei slowly.
"Is there something wrong with that building?" asked Asuka. "other than the fact it has lawyers in it I mean" here, Asuka laughed.
"Nothing wrong" said Rei after a lengthy pause and started to walk down the sidewalk. Asuka soon followed Rei after a last glance at the building.
Asuka and Rei walked for another two blocks until the two came upon a large pile of rubble that was clearly the remains of a building. The pile was surrounded by curious onlookers. Nothing was really that notable about the onlookers save for the woman with a hat and had long red hair.
The woman was maybe in her 30's and also wore a leather jacket with an eye-patch over an eye which was almost hidden behind the bangs of her hair. It wasn't until Asuka came to stand besides her that she gasped. This drew the attention of the woman. The woman was an older version of Asuka. A look of surprise came over the face of the older Asuka.
"This is freaky" said the teenage Asuka.
The older Asuka glanced at Rei before she spoke in German: "Will wonders never cease"
The older Asuka peered at the distended middle of her younger counterpart. "Shinji is in there right?"
"Of course he is" said the teenage Asuka. "the only thing he's useful for"
"Brings back memories..." said the older Asuka. It was at that moment when the teenage Asuka noticed there was a rather nasty gash that went through her eye with the patch. "what're you doing with her?"
Rei, who was looking over at the pile of debris, looked over at the older Asuka.
"She's part angel" whispered Rei.
"Not by choice" replied the older Asuka. "it was the policy of the NERV in our dimension. We were all part angel. Made us much better fighters against the angels"
The younger Asuka threw her older self a look.
"I had much the same reaction" said the older Asuka.
The face of the older Asuka flashed for a heartbeat. For a moment the older Asuka had four greenish eyes not including the one with the patch over it. It wasn't just the face that had momentarily changed; the older Asuka had wing-like appendages on her back. Another moment and the older Asuka was a human once again.
"Is Shinji as useless where you come from?" asked the teenage Asuka after a very pregnant pause.
"He has his uses" replied the older Asuka with a laugh pulling out a hand from a pocket and showing it to both Rei and the younger Asuka. One of the fingers had a ring on it.
"You actually married that lump?" asked the teenage Asuka.
The older Asuka, instead of answering, suddenly extended her hair that shot passed her teenage counterpart to wrap around the hands of a man that had been sneaking up on an unsuspecting younger Asuka.
"What the...?!" asked the man in confusion as he tried in vain to free himself.
The hair of the older Asuka pulled the man closer to her, making the man stumble and fell to his knees in front of the older Asuka. The older Asuka regarded the man as if inspecting an insect.
"I would suggest leaving" growled the older Asuka in an inhuman voice. Here, the older Asuka threw the man with her hair more than a few feet away. The man climbed to his feet and ran off.
"Err..thanks" mumbled the younger Asuka.
"I gotta go" said the older Asuka as she made to walk away. The elder Asuka paused and then whispered something to her young counterpart in German and then was off, back to her dimension.
Rei had thrown the water of the rewind spring on the rubble. Almost immediately the building was rebuilding itself.
In the space of an instant there were two new arrivals in the small crowd. One was Lady Hild and the other was a skeleton in lavish robes. It was unclear as to how the two had arrived. They just might've appeared out of thin air.
"Good work" said Hild.
The skeleton walked towards the restored Dimensional Cafe. Before the skeleton could reach the door of the cafe another person had arrived just as mysteriously as Hild had.
A woman with long blue hair had appeared a dozen steps away from the doors. The skeleton had paused for just a moment before continuing to walk towards the twin doors. Hild soon followed the skeleton.
The woman with blue hair studied Hild and the skeleton. "I believe this is the first time we've met, Lady Hild....Mr. Satoru"
The skeleton kept his composure. "Tsunami, isn't it? I remember seeing you before at the cafe"
"A lich at a restaurant is hard to miss" said Tsunami.
Hild had walked to the doors. She glanced at the nameplate near the door that told who owned the building.
"What is the Soverêa Clan?" asked Hild in bewilderment.
"The clan that I belong to" came a new voice from behind Asuka making her jump. Asuka turned to see a woman dressed all in red that had nine tales of a fox.
Carmen walked towards Hild, Ainz and Tsunami.
"A kitsune clan?" asked Hild.
"Indeed" said Carmen smiling away at Hild. "and my family will soon come to take up management"
Tsunami looked mildly disappointed as she shook hands with Carmen. "Congratulations on getting this cafe again"
Hild and Ainz exchanged glances as the two walked off without a word.
