Misato glanced around the room for a handful of moments before turning her attention to Asuka.
"Where are we?" asked Misato.
"Not at NERV, that's for sure" said Shinji who was also surveying the room. As he did so, the teenager spotted his clothes on top of a drawer. Next to his pile of clothing were clothes that belonged to Misato.
"We're in a place called The Infernal Tavern" said Asuka. "apparently, this tavern can go to other dimensions"
"What are we doing in a place like that?" asked Shinji who grabbed his clothing in one hand.
"Rei wanted to investigate this place" said Asuka. "I merely followed her"
"Where is Rei?" asked Misato who just spotted her clothing on top of a drawer.
"In another room" said Asuka. "and you should know that we aren't in Tokyo-3 anymore. We're kind of stuck here until this place returns there"
"Wonderful" said Misato. "well, I'm gonna get dressed"
Misato walked to the bathroom and closed the door. Asuka turned to see that Shinji was in the process of getting dressed.
Asuka was about to say something to Shinji when the door of the room opened and Rei entered the room.
"Haven't you heard of privacy?" asked Asuka in a lowered voice by way of a greeting.
"Sorry to intrude" said Rei. "but I have news. I spoke with that Hild woman and she made a promise to return this place to Tokyo-3 as long as we run an errand for her"
"Who's this Hild?" asked Shinji.
"One of the owners of this place" said Asuka. "what's this errand she wants us to do?"
"Apparently the destruction of someplace called the Dimensional Cafe has somehow disrupted every dimension" said Rei. "if nothing is done, all of the dimensions will eventually merge into one"
"That sounds bad" said Misato, exiting the bathroom fully dressed.
"It'll be total chaos" said Rei, nodding.
"I'm guessing there's a way to prevent that from happening?" asked Asuka.
Rei nodded. "Hild wants us to go to a place called the rewind spring and collect water from it. Then, we go to this Dimensional Cafe and pour the water from the spring on the ruins of the cafe. That'll restore the cafe"
"Where's this spring?" asked Shinji.
"Every dimension has one somewhere" said Rei.
"How do we find a rewind spring?" asked Misato.
"With this" said Rei pulling out what looked like an ordinary rod of some kind of metal out of a pocket. The rod was nearly three feet in length and was red in color. "This'll vibrate when we get close to a rewind spring. It'll also show the general direction to the spring"
"Sounds easy enough" said Asuka.
"Don't jinx us by saying that" mumbled Shinji.
"Yeah, I somehow doubt this'll be that easy" said Misato. "is there a time limit to this errand?"
"Hild said that the merging of the dimensions won't happen overnight" said Rei. "According to her, the dimensions will start to merge in three months"
"So we have three months to do this errand for Hild" said Asuka thoughtfully. "why doesn't Hild do this herself?"
"Demons can't approach a rewind spring apparently" said Rei.
"What exactly is a rewind spring?" asked Shinji.
"As the name implies, a rewind spring has the power to restore things that have been lost or destroyed" said Rei.
"Sounds useful" said Shinji. Everyone nodded.
"I'm going to need a drink" said Misato after a lengthy pause walking out of the room. Shinji, Rei and Asuka followed shortly after.
The tavern was half empty. Misato had walked down to the main floor along with the others.
Asuka looked at the electronic sign above the entrance that told where the Internal Tavern was located at.

Misato marched to the bar and ordered a drink. The bartender was a young woman with white-silver hair and greenish-yellow eyes.
Shinji, Rei and Rei had also marched to the bar in Misato's wake. They each ordered soda.
"Morning" said Mina who was at the bar already and sipping from a glass of a dark liquid. Sitting next to Mina was Naota.
"Morning!" said Rei in a cheery voice.
"Do you know her?" asked Misato nodding at Mina.
"We met last night" said Asuka.
