With a sharp ring, the phone began to blare into the kitchen, forcing Misato to pick it up. Ignoring the perverse events unfolding around her for the moment, she answered.
"Katsuragi-Ikari-Ayanami residence," she began, purposefully leaving out Asuka's last name for the moment. Maybe when she was taught some more in the manner of matters she might add Soryhu to the list, but that would make it even longer.
"That's pretty long for one listing isn't it Misato?"
"Oh," Misato sighed, recognizing the voice on the other end of the phone. "Well, you know Ritsuko. New people move in, you want to recognize them..."
"Right," Ritsuko answered, obviously not interested in the conversation about surnames and greetings. "I called because we finally found out how to reverse the process that shrunk Shinji and Asuka."
"I...see," Misato answered. "What about Rei's spurts?"
"Has she experienced any?" Ritsuko asked, while on the other end of the phone line, Rei began to pay attention to the conversation more earnestly.
"Not since the incident. But you said..."
"We found out how to reverse stable effects," Ritsuko admitted with a slight groan. "Random, libido effected spurts are still beyond us at the moment."
"That's too bad," Misato replied. She was all ready to confirm the appointment when a slight tingling from her bowels alerted her to Shinji's presence. Namely, how much she had grown attached to having a pint-sized lover. Even more so, how much Asuka had been learning how to finally let go of the pride and defiance that had made her so impossible to live with. If she was returned to normal so soon, odds are that would all go to waste.
"Well, when are you coming?" Ritsuko asked, her voice suddenly a bit more serious.
"You sound lonely Ritsuko," Misato added, dodging the question. "What's wrong? Rocking yourself to sleep, playing piano music in the background again?"
"That only happened once!" a furious voice answered. "Now when are you coming?"
She obviously wasn't going to take "I need a few more days with Shinji-kun" as an answer. She had to decide whether to get it done, or just lie about it.
