The walk to school seemed uneventful for Shinji, but at the same time, a bit annoying. He didn't mind the walk itself, or that Rei occasionally paused between clinging to his shoulder and walking on her own, but the honest truth was that he would have rather slept a few extra hours after the previous night's marathon session. Now he had to trudge through a day in class, although the presence of Rei besides him allievated most of that discomfort.
"BAKA!"
The familiar yell followed by the sharp sting on the back of Shinji's head did its usual job of announcing Asuka's presence. He had no idea why she was mad at him though, he didn't do anything.
"A...Asuka? What's wrong?"
"What's wrong? I get eaten by Wondergirl and you ask me what's wrong?" the redheaded German replied with a huff. "You two seem awfully close, hell, if I didn't know better I'd say you were planning it out!
"Shinji had nothing to do with it," Rei interrupted. "Besides, you were planning to do the same thing, weren't you?"
"Yeah, and you ruined it!" Asuka answered. Having got into the habit of being firmly in control during lovemaking, any interruption or alteration in her plans was ultimately an unwelcome one. Shinji was too timid to say anything, which was one of the reasons she liked bedding him so much.
Speaking of, Shinji was now really unsure of how to mention everything else he had found out in the morning, the theories surrounding Rei's spurts, not to mention that Rei would be living with them. If Asuka was mad now, finding out that Rei would have constant access to Shinji would probably cause her to have a heart attack. He could only hope Rei would let Misato explain it to her.
"You shouldn't be so upset. You'll have other chances, especially since Misato wants me to leave at your apartment now."
No such luck. Shinji ducked his head down, preparing for the fireworks.
When Asuka didn't scream, he raised his head to find out what was wrong. Looking up, he soon found his answer. Rei was growing again.
"Asuka? What did..."
"ME?! Why is it my fault!?" Asuka snapped back, actually clinging to Shinji for a moment as the two backed up, force to give Rei's expanding form space. She was showing no sign of stopping even as she grew past 100 feet. It was obvious the theory about the size change directly being affected by the sex was wrong, but the personality of the soon-to-be EVA sized girl, that was the real question.
"We should go," Asuka flatly suggested, but Shinji brushed it off, looking up at the blue-haired titaness, her dress ripped from the astonishing growth spurt.
