After a few days of waiting, the troubled Kagome once again walked into the sacred shrine to return to the Feudal era. "I hope Inuyasha is alright. I had to return in order to make up all of those tests. It's a shame that I had no study time before doing them." Kagome rid her thoughts, relieved that the exams were over. She climbed into the square portal and was ready to continue her journey.
Looking at the forest around her, she wondered,"Hmm, Shippo would've been waiting for me anytime now. Why isn't he here?" Kagome just sat on the stump in front of her, thinking of what to do next.
Meanwhile, Naraku sensed Kagome's return to the Feudal era. "Interesting. Kikyo's incarnation returned again. I know just how to spoil her." With an unheard chuckle, the demon started to plague a mysterious curse on Kagome's jewel shards. The shards turned a pitch black, loosing the original pink sheen.
Kagome felt a dark pain pulse through her heart. She suddenly looked at her bottle of jewel shard fragments. "What's happening to the sacred jewels?" Once she noticed the black coal, she felt a tingling in her legs. Kagome stood up and hit a tree that loomed above her. Rubbing the top of her head, she looked down, and saw the ground getting much further away from her.
She felt both fear and confusion at the happening of her tremendous growth spurt. When she was finished, the tallest trees went up to her waist and she stood at 100 feet tall. Kagome's face turned red, full of worry and embarassment. "I don't want Inuyasha to see me like this. What do I do?" She continued to look at the smaller surroundings around her, bewildered by her newfound height.
