The amazon looming above him had Tenchi sweating bullets. It was obvious she wanted to be close to him, and he thought she was attractive, but his experience with women usually meant that this is the part where they overbearingly forced themselves on him, and he would flee until something forced them apart. Mihoshi was quick to pick up on this apprehensiveness, petting him on the head and holding it softly.
"Don't be scared," she requested with a giggle. "I just want to be close for a bit, that's all. Is that so bad?"
"W...well, no", Tenchi stammered, "but what if someone..."
"All I want to do is stay close," she began again. "Besides," she added, holding him right next to her pajama covered bosom "If someone looks in here, they probably won't even notice you."
"True," Tenchi muttered under his breath, fumbling for a response.
She smiled, letting his small body lay against her larger one, holding him close with two arms that could easily lift someone twice his size. The sweet tone in her voice unchanged, she promised, "I won't do anything you don't want to."
"You promise?" Tenchi asked, a bit confused, used to the over-domineering style his other female acquaintances used on him.
"Yes," she replied. "But still, isn't this a lot more comfortable than being on the bed alone?"
Sighing, both because of how right the amazon was, and that even if she wasn't, he wasn't sure he could escape, nodded. "Goodnight," was all he said afterwards, trying to get comftorable in Mihoshi's firm embrace.
"Goodnight Tenchi," the amazon replied, falling asleep as she held him as firm as a normal girl would a stuffed animal.
During the midst of all of this, the energy being known as the Torn, still inside Mihoshi's head, made observations and judgments. It's first conclusion was that the host was much happier trying to obtain its desire than letting an emotional response impede the obtaining of said desire.
The second was the goal of having Tenchi was not complete for the host. This was only the first step of what would be a prolonged goal, having the boy as close as possible and keeping him with her for life, hopefully. It was a completely different goal than obtaining the artifact.
The artifact was a singular objective. Once the creator had it, his purpose was fulfilled. What would happen to him next would be unknown, in fact, the Torn might be discarded, viewed as unnecessary. The host on the other hand, was pursuing a goal that gave it meaning past a singular achievement. It would be something that could give a new purpose, one far beyond its single objective.
The idea seemed blasphemous, yet despite hours of deliberating, the Torn couldn't help but question his creator's goal. The conscience that it had been blessed with gnawed as the creature as day broke.
