The western city of Melby was the furtherest city to the west in the country. It was slightly bigger than Resembool and it had a small alchemy academy that Izumi went to in her younger days..unknown to both Elric Brothers. Izumi didn't like to talk about her younger days much when she was teaching the Elric Brothers.
Ed and Al both were in the first train car, while Winry, Riza and Izumi were in the third. So, Ed and Al got off the train before the three females did, and neither of them saw each other at the train station. There were a surprisely large number of people going to Melby, so the train station was pretty crowded. Al towered over most people, and he thought he caught a glimpse of thier teacher, but another look confirmed that it wasn't.
"You're too paranoid" said Ed when Al told him what he thought he saw. "why would Izumi want to come to a small city like this, anyway?"
"Why would this many people want to go to this small city?" asked Al.
"There's an automail contest going on in this city" said Ed. "Maybe that's why there's so many people here" Almost half of the people on the train going to Melby had at least one automail limb.
"Where does this Cassandra live, anyway?" asked Al.
"Near the Alchemy Academy" said Ed.
Most buildings in Melby were two-story or less. The largest building in the city was the four-story alchemy academy. The two Elric brothers had no problems locating the academy.
"I thought I saw Al at the station" said Riza.
Winry, Izumi and Riza had just walked out of the train station and headed down a road that led to Riza's aunt's house.
"I couldn't see anybody" said Winry. "why is there so many people here?"
"Probably because of the automail competion" said Izumi. "almost half the people on the train had automail limbs"
"Is there a hotel here?" asked Winry.
"Uh...yeah, there's The Shamrock" said Riza. "it's a tavern, actually and they serve pretty good food...just don't get the meat pies"
"Why not?" asked Winry.
"Well, if a pet goes missing..." said Riza darkly.
"They wouldn't!" yelled Winry.
"I'm sure they don't" said Izumi. "they do that in the east, anyway"
Winry looked like she was about to throw up.
