Ed and Al had been out traveling for months on end, trying to find the Alchemist's Stone. Their search, as usual, had left them with no stone and, as usual, had left Ed with a busted arm. When they walked into town and stopped by Winry's place, she was sitting on the porch.

"Hey, Winry! Hey!" Ed and Al raced toward her, "How's it going Win? Haven't seen you in awhile." She smiled, "Nothing much... Oh my gosh! Ed! What did you do to your arm? Are you alright?" Winry began freaking out, frantically checking Ed for wounds. He chuckled, "Hey, get off! I'm fine. I'd rather not talk about what happened though. you mind fixing me up a new one?" Winry sighed, "Yeah, Ed. You've got to be more careful, you know. It's not easy making those things. It takes time and effort. Lot's of effort." Ed stared at his feet, "Yeah, I know. I guess I owe you an aopology, and a thanks for that matter. You've always been here to help me out, you know, and I've never really done much of anything for you..." Winry smiled, "Ed, you've been my friend. That's all you ever needed to do..."
