General Olivier Mira Armstrong sat at the table in the war room of Central High Command. She was seated in General Raven's chair supposedly. She didn't much care of where she sat in a room full of traitors. A room full of traitors that sounded a lot more like a room of whining little babies looking for a tit to suckle. The room was filled with suggestions, recommendations and blind panic talk. All because Bradley had went missing three days before. Couldn't these people hold it together without their leader? Apparently not.
Olivier had listened to the inane babling for ten straight minutes now and was barely able to keep quiet any longer. She tapped the hilt of the sword on her belt. Nobody had even taken a glance in her direction during the ongoing argument about the situation in Amestris.
Fifteen days earlier, Olivier had received word of corruption in the military from Alfonse Elric, brother of the missing Edward Elric. Five days after that news, Olivier had received word of her transfer to Central. Almost immediately in Central, Olivier managed to convince Bradley that she was on his side. Yesterday, Olivier had gone to her parents' mansion and convinced them to take the family on a vacation... after a brief fight from her useless brother.
The meetings that Olivier had partook in told her a great many things but not on who really was in charge because Bradley had just as good told her that he, Bradley, wasn't the one in charge. Perhaps that mysterious someone would make an appearance now that Bradley was missing. Olivier would be in a position to stab whoever it was in the gut.
Olivier opened her eyes and the man across the table from her traded quick glances before returning to the inane argument. The argument was about who had jurisdiction over who and other petty concerns. Olivier tapped the hilt of her sword even faster now.
When Olivier had left Briggs, it had been taken over by forces of Central. No doubt the forces of Central would cause trouble with Drachma and force a bloodbath which the military wanted to happen for their scheme to work. Exactly what they were scheming was still a mystery to Olivier since nobody really knew. All that was known was that all of them would gain immortality somehow. Olivier had doubts about that since her talk with General Raven indicated that there were no guarantees on who would gain immortality. Olivier assumed that immortality would be granted to the real power behind the throne and nobody else.
Olivier had enough listening to the endless debate around her. Just when she was about to speak she felt a presence behind her. Olivier had barely leaned forward in order to speak to the room. The presence behind her was a tall bearded man in white robes.
Olivier could practically feel the man's eyes drilling into the back of her head. For long moments the tension held.
"Calm down," intoned the bearded man in a rich voice. "all of you"
The room went silent almost immediately. There were gasps of relief around the room.
"I must say," said Father as he walked to the chair where Bradley would've been sitting in. "I wasn't expecting to come up here seeing as the Promised Day is just four months away"
Father sat down on the chair and surveyed the entire room before he spoke again, "Any news on the location of Wrath?"
There hadn't been. Bradley...or Wrath...was last seen going home with his escort. Bradley was just four blocks away when something happened to the motorcade. What exactly had happened was a mystery as there were no evidence as to anything happening. The cars were left alone on the street but all of the people in the vehicles were now missing, including the military leader of Amestris. No ransom note had been left behind. Whoever did this was extremely efficient at covering his or her tracks.
"Who would gain from kidnapping him?" asked Father.
The room was silent.
"A foreign enemy agent is my guess" said Olivier. "either that... or it has something to do with those mysterious scouts that have been spotted everywhere lately"
"Any news on that front?" asked Father.
"Only scattered reports," replied a general. "apparently, they all wear the same type of eyepiece. We did manage to obtain one of those eyepieces. The white coats can't make heads or tails of said eyepiece. Only that it wasn't made on Earth"
Olivier snorted. "So you're saying we're up against little green men from outer space...as well as those man-eating giants"
"Fortunately, we do have news on that front" said the same general as before. "the man-eating giants are scattered throughout the country and it looks like one third of the population of the country are infected with this virus that changes people into these giants.
The giants do apparently have one weakness; the nape of the neck. Aim for it and those brutes go down easy"
Father considered this for a few heartbeats before he asked, "Is there any connection between these giants and the scouts?"
The room was deadly quiet.
"My gut tells me no" said Olivier. "of course I have no evidence as to the contrary"
"Hmmm" said Father, stroking his beard thoughtfully. "do we have any idea just where this new virus that changes humans into these giants came from?"
"Unfortunately not" replied another general.
"Do we know anything about the virus?" asked Olivier.
"A person starts out with flu-like symptoms" said the general. "that lasts for 3-4 days until they appear to get better and then.... they turn into a giant"
"Not like any other virus then" said Olivier.
"No" replied the same general.
"Unless there are any objections," said Father after several moments of silence. "we'll move on to other matters"

Esdeath exited the alley with a hugely bloated belly. The female general was almost immediately followed by Tatsumi , the love of her life.
Tatsumi had a collar around his throat that had a long chain attached to it. The end of the chain was in the hands of Esdeath.
"Thanks for helping me eat those thugs that jumped us, my love" purred Esdeath as she yanked on the chain in her hand, forcing Tatsumi to stumble so that he was right beside her. Tatsumi managed to keep on his feet but barely.
"Like I had much of a choice" said Tatsumi
Esdeath belched before answering, "You can eat the next punk that tries to jump on me"
"Gee, thanks" muttered Tatsumi.
The two had become unlikely allies when Tatsumi had joined Night Raid. Natsumi had no idea why or how the evil general had joined the group that was made for tearing down the empire. Esdeath had been a double agent for Night Raid and it was hard to tell whose side she was truly on. At times Esdeath appeared to play each side down the middle.
The two were at the Dimensional Cafe. They were, in fact, the very last customers to enter the cafe before it was destroyed. The two were teleported in a desert. The pair had quickly found their way in a city called Youswell and had spent the next two weeks hunting down criminals. Going after criminals had been Esdeath's idea just so that she could torture people in sadistic (and inventive) ways that made Tatsumi sick to his stomach.
"Keep on struggling in there" said Esdeath rubbing at her stomach. "Tatsumi, you ought to do this instead of me"
"Out here in broad daylight?!" asked Tatsumi.
Esdeath yanked on Tatsumi's chain hard enough to make Tatsumi stumble and fall to his knees.
Esdeath grabbed the back of Tatsumi's head and forcibly buried it in her stomach.
"Tell me you like this" purred Esdeath. Tatsumi's only response was muffled shouting.
