‘Why am I even thinking about this,’ thought the green haired girl. ‘I can’t just let him be harassed like that!’ Sun-Sun then rounded the corner.
“Stop.” She said, sternly and with conviction at the thug, who looked to be older than the young man that was her charge.
“Eh? The fuck are-“ The confusion turned to amusement and lust. “Oh why hey there…”
“Sun-Sun!” Yelled out Keizo standing up. “Get away-“
“Shut yer fuckin’ trap or I’ll-“
“Scream.” The thug and Keizo turned towards her, her glare murderous, and her gaze poisonous. “If you so much as hit him, or even approach me. I will scream, and others will come and see the damage of what you have wrought. If you want to leave this place without incident, leave. Now.”
The thug flinched, if the girl did scream, it would attract unwanted attention. Damnit! He was hungry and needed money! Fucking gambling! The panchinkos ruined him and he needed cash and just when he was about to take this little shitty college kid some pregnant school girl, and if anyone saw him with a roughed up college kid and a beat up girl, it’s off to prison for him.
“Fine…” He growled, leaving Keizo and sauntering past the girl. He tried to glare and bare his dirty teeth, but she didn’t so much as back down. He put his hands in his pockets, kicked over some trash can(which caused a stray cat to run out) and walk down the street past others.
Sun-Sun had her eye on that man until he rounded the corner, then she let out a small sigh of relief and turned.
“Keizo, I found-“ She was interrupted by him tackling her into a hug.
“Sun-Sun! I was so scared! I-I-I mean, do you know w-what could h-have happened?!” Mumbled the college student. Sun-Sun blinked, and she felt a bit of blood rush to her cheeks.
“I-I was only trying to find you.” She pushed him away. “I was hungry and you were late. Do you know how it took for me to find you.” She said with an inquisitive gaze. Keizo wanted to cry for all that’s happen, but he felt strength from the girl rub off onto him, and he wiped his eyes.
“S-Sorry…I had an after school activity for my major, attending a lecture on how to prepare 5-class meals with decorative condiments and what not. Then my train got delayed and I thought walking back was quicker…and then…” He rubbed the back of his head.
“You got jumped?” Sun-Sun asked rhetorically. Keizo nodded.
“S-Sorry…I should have thicker skin but-“
“It’s alright.” Sun-Sun crossed her arms over her small chest. “You didn’t have the power of foresight to foresee this delayed ‘train’ or of that man assaulting you. What’s important is that you’re okay.”
“Sun-Sun…”
A growl cut through, making the blushing and awed Keizo look down at Sun-Sun’s exposed belly, which was covered mostly by her shirt. Out of instinct, she reached a hand down to cover it.
“Now I’m expecting you to make the same amount of food as you did last night, I would ask for less but I held off from snacking for your meal, so you better take responsibility. Understand?” Said the green-haired lass, eyes looking up at the brunette. Keizo gave her a smile.
“Sure thing! How would you like to have British food tonight?”
“British? What is this British?” Keizo rolled his eyes. For some reason, this girl didn’t know on nationalities…
“I’ll explain later, for now, can you help me grocery shop. I’m gonna use the money to buy the ingredients.”
“Was that you meant earlier? You needed the money for a special tonight?” Asked Sun-Sun, hands clasped in front of her as she walked side by side with the taller boy.
“Yep. I wanted to make an English meal for you and-“
“What is English? Is it British?” Keizo audibly sighed.
“I’ll explain later…”
As the two passed an alley, a black cat came out and inspected them with an amused gaze as they walked. If it was human, it would have given a small smile. The cat turned it’s head…
And saw the same mugger from earlier sitting on a bench with a rusty old newspaper across the street, seeing the couple walk off in the crowd. He then got up, toss the paper into a nearby trashcan, and followed them.
The black cat narrowed it’s eyes and waited until the man passed him, and slowly trotted along the wall in front of stores and doors, following the man.
The cat wasn’t going to let this man do anything…not on her watch.
