Ino was busy looking at something in the streets, while Sakura was looking in the other direction of the streets. They both simply waiting for the food, and Sakura had her hands supporting her head up. Ino was just about to doze off when suddenly Sakura shook her shoulder violently.
"S- Sakura!" Ino shook her head and glared at the girl.
"Ino, your team!" Sakura said, and pointed in the direction she was looking at. Ino looked over, and true to Sakura's word was Shikamaru and Choji walking towards them.
"We have to get out of here!" Ino whispered.
"No use, they already saw us, and if we leave we'll look suspicious." Sakura whispered back to Ino, who sighed.
Shikamaru was wearing a jounin vest, since he was now promoted to that rank. He still wore his usual fishnet attire under that, and it has been rumored that he has been going out with Temari. Choji was still as large as he has always been, he wore a red shirt and pants, and the armor his clan always wore as well.
Sakura and Ino pretended to chat as Choji and Shikamaru walked over to them.
"Hey, Sakura, and..." Shikamaru looked at the other person, it wasn't too difficult to tell who exactly it was, but the pink hair kind of shocked him, "Ino..?"
"Yeah, what do you want Shikamaru?" Ino sighed looking away from the boy.
"You dyed your hair pink..." Shikamaru noted, "And you're wearing baggy clothes. That's new for you. Something not go right with your date with Sasuke last night?" Shikamaru's gaze turned to Sakura, he noted her new expanded features, but decided to stay silent.
"Nice observations Caption Obvious." Ino remarked, "Would you also like to say that the sky is blue too?"
"Heh, at least your sense of humor didn't seem to change." Shikamaru turned to Choji, "Choji and I were coming to eat here, imagine our surprise when we found our teammate and her friend here."
"I can imagine..." Ino said, "Is there anything you want Shikamaru?"
He shrugged, "Figured we could catch up, we've been on vacation for a couple days, and we haven't seen you around."
"Yeah, Ino." Choji finally joined in, "Maybe you can hang out with us today or something? We can go train if you want."
"I would love to hang out with you two," He voice dripped with sarcasm, "But Sakura and I are a little busy today."
"With shopping?" Shikamaru motioned his head towards the bag on the ground.
Sakura nodded, "Yes, with shopping."
A small silence hung over the four. Suddenly the Dango Sakura ordered came, and it broke the awkward silence.
"Can I have some?" Choji asked looking at the food, following every movement of it with his eyes.
"Sure..." Sakura sighed and pushed the plate over to him, suddenly not in the mood to eat anyways.
"You know Ino, and Sakura." He pulled out a cigarette and a lighter, "I ran into Sasuke and Naruto last night." He lit his cigarette and put it in his mouth, putting the lighter away, "They told me that they went on a date with you two - or rather, Sakura went with them, and they ended up coming out alone. I don't think I have ever seen Sasuke so pissed off in my life." Shikamaru shook his head and took a drag of his cigarette.
Sakura looked confused, "What about Naruto, what was he doing?"
"I don't know. He was going on about how you had your reasons for not being there, and that you were feeling sick before you even went there. He also told me to tell you to see him whenever you can if I saw you, by the way." Shikamaru explained.
"What should I do Shikamaru?" Ino asked, looking almost heart broken.
"Why are you asking me of all people?" Shikamaru looked at her with annoyance on his face. When Ino showed him her best puppy-dog eyes, he looked off to the side, "Well, for starters, I'd suggest you go talk to him..."
Ino nodded, "Y- yeah, I should. In fact, I think I'll go do that right now!" She stood up, put Sakura grabbed her arm, "Wait, Ino!"
"What?!" Ino shouted at Sakura, obviously annoyed that the girl was holding her back.
"Give me the ball before you leave, I don't want you to throw it at Sasuke in a temper tantrum or something." Sakura said holding out her hand.
Ino hurriedly grabbed the ball out of her pocket and gave it to Sakura, and she quickly ran off on her own.
"What's that?" Choji asked her continued to eat all of Sakura's food.
"Nothing important." Sakura answered and put it in her pocket.
