Naruto was never one to turn an offer down, especially if that offer was Sakura asking if he wanted to go inside of her house. He turned around to face Sakura, making sure that he didn't make it too obvious that he really did want to go inside. He guessed from Sakura giggling a little that he failed in that respect.
"Um, Sure!" Naruto answered, smiling at Sakura, who was still laughing at his antics. He was glad he could get her to laugh after she had been locked up in her house all day.
"Ok Naruto, don't be too eager to come in, my house in nothing special." She moved aside as she opened the door, and allowed Naruto to enter. There was a living room to their left immediately after entering with some couches and a table inbetween the two, and then right next to that room was the kitchen. If you went straight down the hallway there was a bathroom, and if you took a right there was the first bedroom, and if you took a right after that, it was Sakura's guest bedroom.
Sakura said that her house was nothing special, but to Naruto, that was clearly a false statement.
"Wow! Your place is awesome Sakura!" He said, almost feeling the need to run around and check every corner of the place. Even though he didn't do that, he went to sit on the couch while Sakura went to make them some tea.
He sat on a warm spot, and guessed that was were Sakura was sitting all day. He then looked up and noticed that there was a scroll of medical ninjutsu on the table in front of him. He would guess that was what Sakura had been doing all day - no wonder she was so eager to let him inside.
"Here Naruto." He looked up and grabbed some tea from Sakura's hand.
"Thank you Sakura." He took a sip of it and put it down on the table, tea wasn't his favorite drink, quite the opposite actually, but he wasn't willing to ruin the moment by spitting tea out everywhere.
"Look... Sakura." He sighed, "I'm sorry we couldn't get Sasuke back."
She looked down. During this time Naruto noticed that she had put the flower he was gotten her into her hair, where it seem to glow again for a second. He didn't have much time to think on it because Sakura looked back up, making viewing the flower difficult to do.
"It wasn't your fault Naruto, I was there too... I should have been stronger." She took a shaky sip of her tea, "Of course, I am never strong am I..."
"Sakura! That's not true!" Naruto stood up and waved about his arms, "You're one of the strongest people I know! I can seriously say you're one of two people I know of that can blow up the ground just by touching it!"
"Super strength isn't going to get Sasuke back..." She sighed, "I always thought that he would willingly come back if we showed him that we still cared about him, but it seems that isn't the case."
"Sakura..."
"No Naruto! It's true!" Her voice began to shake as she spoke now, "He just wants to go kill his stupid brother, he doesn't care if I love him - no, loved him! He's a bastard..." She put her hands up to her eyes to stop herself from crying.
"Sakura, I know you don't mean that..." Naruto did truly want to believe that she hated Sasuke now, it would increase his chances with her, but he also knew that she was just really upset now, and most of what she was saying would be void tomorrow.
"No... Naruto." She looked up, her green eyes seem to look right through him, "I should never have tried to pursue him, and I know you think I am lying..." She hiccuped halfway through her sentense, "B- but... I think I should just forget about him, and try to move onto someone else..."
Naruto's ears perked up, she was acting differently than he suspected.
"Naruto... I should have... I should have given you a chance at one point, you know?" She wiped her eyes, "But you probably hate me now... don't you..."
Naruto stood up and crossed the table to hug her.
"Don't say lies like that..."
Sakura returned the hug right after that still crying. At that moment, the flower on top of her head began to glow and...
