"There actually is a jutsu that can do it in theory... No one has ever been able to perfect it though."
"Oh?"
"Well... back when souls were actually discovered, one philosopher theorized that it was the soul that created the body, not the other way around. So if you have only have a soul, with the proper prodding, you should be able to get it to reform its body."
"So... would he reform as a baby?"
"Nope. The philosopher believed that the soul would reform whatever form it was most accustomed to, which is generally its most recent form. BUT say, for example, a man had just lost his arm, the philosopher theorized that he could extract the soul and have it reform its body. In doing so, the man would be most accustomed to his body WITH his arm since he had just lost it, thus reforming his body with both arms fully in tact."
"Interesting... So what happened?"
"Well, before the philosopher could really test out the jutsu, practicing jutsus on souls was banned due to how vulnerable souls are in the living world."
"So this jutsu would be dangerous for Naruto?"
"Nope! It doesn't take too much of the soul's energy, so Naruto would be perfectly fine. It's just no one has ever had the opportunity to perfect the jutsu before. It's not very common for a soul to willingly bind itself to someone, much less the person that ate them after all."
"Ah..." Sakura smiled as she thought of the possibilities. She could bring Naruto back! "Do you know if it's a one time thing?"
"No, if you can figure out how, then the soul should be able to reform its body again and again."
"Perfect!" Sakura grinned. "That means I can bring him back and eat him again!"
Tsunade rolled her eyes at her student. "I thought the kyubi's influence was the reason you wanted to eat him?"
"That was the reason I became so desperate, but he was delicious! I would love to do it again."
"Well, go work your shift and I'll have all the scrolls I have on the philosophers theories delivered to your house."
"Perfect! This is going to be awesome! Thanks Tsunade-sama!"
Sakura ran out of Tsunade's house with an excited grin on her face. Now she could keep her friend in her life forever, and have a delicious meal whenever she wanted to boot!
