Naruto's Escape?

Even though he said he’d give himself up he still wanted to live. And seeing the hungry little girl drooling at him really drove this home. So he had a choice, to stay and fight but, likely be eaten. Or run away and hope for the best.
Obviously he chose to run. So turning on his heels he spun around and ran at breakneck speeds. He could hear the girl, Hanabi, yelling at him. He didn’t bother to really listen but, he absentmindedly took note of her saying something about belonging in her stomach and he was pretty sure she said something about having her sister for seconds.
Deciding to think on that last bit later Naruto spied a split in the road. Making the hand sign for his signature justu Naruto made one clone, the smoke making for a good distraction. Reaching the split in the road his clone veered right while he went left. Taking a chance to look back at the famished Hyuga behind him, he didn’t notice the piles of construction equipment and materials. Crashing right into these obstacles caused Naruto to fall to the ground with enough stuff on top of him to pin him down. Quickly looking himself over he realized that Hanabi would be able to catch him before he’d be able to get free.
So with a dejected sigh he turned to look towards the corner he came around and could see his clone still sprinting down the path it took, though this view was partially blocked by the arrival of the young Hyuga girl. He just sat there with a defeated look on his face as the girl looked back and forth between himself and the clone.
*Hanabi's veiwpoint*
Hanabi was a smart girl. She rarely needed to study for her classes when she had them and almost always outsmarted her team members, but this was something she wasn’t prepared for. Looking at the Naruto that lay under the construction goods and back at the still fleeing Naruto, she couldn’t help but think this was a trick. ‘The real Naruto wouldn’t just sit here defeated, he’d still be running. After all he doesn’t give up or at least that’s what sister says. But the things fell on him and he didn’t disappear so he can’t be a shadow-clone, can he? Darn it all!!! I wish big-sister was here, and then if she got the real one first I’d just have to eat her…’
Looking one last time between the two Naruto’s she made her choice and
