"I don't really have a lot of willing protectors in case you haven't noticed," Naruto lamented. "Everyone wants to eat me or wants to throw me to someone who wants to eat me to save their own ass. And I'm pretty sure the kybuki has been preparing for me. She'll burst out of me the first chance she gets."
"I guess this means," Buki began, a nod from Naruto finishing the thought.
"If this thing even exists." He was still trying to wrap his head around the idea of a giant goddess. The whole thing...
"You were sleeping that day in class," Buki interrupted. "I was listening. Basically, this goddess is supposed to be some sort of protector of those in extreme peril. Bright red to orange hair, really really nice figure, at least if you believe those two teaching assistants in the back of the class."
"What's she like?" Naruto wondered. "What's her name."
"Well the thing about that is..."
"What?!" Naruto asked.
"When they were getting to that part, the class was evacuated. That was the day you planted cherry bombs in the toilets and caused the first floor of the school to get flooded, remember?"
"Oh yeah," Naruto grinned as he fondly remembered the incident. It was especially gratifying since Sasuke had been completely soaked by the ensuing flood as he was walking down the hall.
Buki, for being an imaginary ninja that only had his eyes visible, was not the least bit amused. "THAT'S NOT THE POINT! I HAVE NO IDEA HOW SHE ACTS! JUST HOW TO SUMMON HER!"
Naruto blinked. "Not a clue?"
"Well, from some VAGUE looking over notes, the odds are 50/50. She could be either loving and overprotective, willing to keep you safe from any harm..."
"Or?"
"Or she could be an engine of destruction that would kill anyone who attempted to threaten you and anyone who's friends with those who attempted to harm you, and then she'd kill the friends of those friends. And if you got hurt in the crossfire, too freaking bad."
"Sounds promising," Naruto groaned.
"At least this way the kybuki can't come out."
Realizing he had little choice in the matter, Naruto asked, "Where's the shrine?"
"About three miles south."
"I guess this means," Buki began, a nod from Naruto finishing the thought.
